fjtorres. i have to disagree. if by ur assumptions there will be 10million copies sold by 2009 (lets say... 30 million xbox's are sold) thats 1:3 attach ratio.
xbox 1 + xbox 360 = 50million units as of right now (approx)
halo 1 + 2 = 15mil. thats less then 1:3 attach ratio. and even then thats pushing it. no way will halo 3 reach 6 million by xmas. and NO WAY will it reach 10million by 2009. i would say 6 million by 2009 january. maybe 10 million by 2012-2...

agreed, they are also forgetting to factor in the costs of living in the making of the game over 3 years, such as electricity, hydro etc. it wouldnt be that much but to get an estimation i still think $500 million is a bit much. maximum revenue they would generate is 400-450 (do you honestly belive people will pay $70 for a 2 year old game??)
if you honestly think a mega corporation would do that.. your in denial. even if they did that, i dont think sony would sit around and wait for a nail in the coffin. they would react by doing something even microsoft cant do (err...maybe they can but dont bet on it) bundle a ps3 with a HDTV bravia for $1000 and you'll see the adoption rate for the HD format increase by 100's of percent. this is all hypothetical and none of this would ofcourse happen. they both would loose too much money to...

again roof. do you honestly belive people are gonna keep buying the wii at this pace? i have one, its sitting in my living room collecting dust, i havent played it in over 3 months. why? because most if not all games are horrible quality (save for first party titles) which has always been the case with nintendo since the gamecube.

Gears of war had 3 million units sold?(need proof) when MS had 10 million units sold. now tell me who has the higher attach rate for good games? oh yeah thats right the playstation 3. even thou LESS people bought it, the ratio of the attach rate is HIGHER then what gears of war has.
not really. if there was no microsoft, we wouldnt have the xbox 360, or the ps3 right now. sony would be waiting another year/2 years to release the PS3 so it would be cheap (aka 399/299) when it is released. as you remember the ps3 was released to prevent the xbox from getting an even bigger lead.
