They are also trying to push a new console, where have they been the last 4 years of the current generation?
If they both block used games, PS Plus could become even more valuable as it will be a cheap way to experience games that can't be rented. Sure beats paying for Xbox Live Gold which is about as valuable as putting a match to your money and watching it burn.
No way these consoles sell that low. I'm betting $449-$499 and only 1 sku for both. (already confirmed for xbox one)
I actually prefer the batteries being removable. On the PS3 I need to have a second controller so one can charge while using the other. With The 360 controller, just slap in some eneloop rechargeables and good to go, and eneloops charge last a long time.
So I'll be getting an Xbox One controller for my PC and an extra Dualshock 4 to go with my PS4. :)

I like how people think that this billion dollars was invested because Microsoft wants to "bring it" for gamers. First of all the way Microsoft throws around big numbers to impress I wouldn't be surprised if this number was as bloated as their server farm numbers. I think they enhance the experience. I've got a great deal more out of titles trying to get all the trophies/achievements than I would have if they weren't there. And to the people that they do bother, it's really not hard to ignore them. I wish Nintendo would implement them system wide on the Wii U and 3DS.

Microsoft's E3 2011 I believe goes down as one of the worst. That was the year they focused heavily on Kinect.

They force you to pay $60 a year to use features that are free everywhere else. And I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft paywalls even more stuff on the Xbox One like the hdmi passthrough to give the illusion of value for the con that is xbox live gold.

I use ios and when game center launched I thought it would be great to have an Xbox Live/PSN experience on my iphone. Sadly it really isn't even close. The trophies are boring. The app is boring. The way it compares games to your contacts is tedious. It needs a major overhaul. The good thing about google launching Play is maybe it will light the competitive fire under Apples booty and get them to fix it. Though if the iphone 5s doesn't impress I may be moving to droid anyway so...
