If they can get a steambox out around the $500 mark that can play new releases then maybe. But I don't see it happening for years which will allow plenty of time for these consoles to get a foothold for this generation.
I do however think that this will factor into the next generation of consoles. Sony is going to have to get creative with the PS5, maybe even doing something similar and releasing a PS5 OS for bring your own hardware type situations. Not sure what Micro...
Well who knows when Vita TV will be available and what services. As of now not much competes with a Roku.
I imagine if the light bar becomes too much an issue they will add options to dim or shut it off. I personally don't think it'll be an issue for me and I have a reflective screen, but we'll see on November 15th!
I wouldn't mind a console form factor PC for the living room. I've looked into htpc but never got around to building one. If Valve can offer a great machine in a nice form factor at a competitive price, I'm in. However, that's a lot of ifs.
hear, hear!
A Roku offers far more entertainment features than the Bone at $400 cheaper and no paywalls for services you already pay for. A PS4 offers superior gaming hardware at $100 cheaper. I just don't see how this thing is going to be a success when it doesn't offer anything that can't be had cheaper and better elsewhere with the exception of a couple of overrated exclusives.
The indies section on the 360 was an absolute joke. They were rarely promoted and lacked basic features like achievements.
When the Bone was announced there was no talk of indie support and it wasn't until gamescom that indies were highlighted.
Now whether my sarcastic joke about Microsoft following Sony on indies is accurate or not, most of the 180 has been Microsoft walking Sonys path so it's not as unlikely as your post implies.

When I see the Xbox One all I see is the last 5 months of terrible PR and terrible policy that almost came to fruition.
If/when I ever get one it will require a redesign or different color just so I don't have to relive the horrible trauma everytime I look at it.
Another day, another PS4 exclusive, sure is great living in the PlayStation nation!
In all reality the client should be a one time purchase and you can use it on any available platform. I think it's silly to have to rebuy the client on different platforms to access the same servers etc.
Microsoft and Capcom appear to have the best looking girls, but yeah a lot of eye candy everywhere!
It's a character from the 1960s show " I Dream of Genie."

More "truth" from major douchebag?
Paul, you did talk about the success of GTA V which is true, but in the segment where you were trying to convey the PS3 was more powerful but got the worse version of games, you went on to say which multiplats looked better on the 360, you even listed GTA IV which is accurate, however in the counter argument you said only Sony studios games looked better which is not accurate when GTA V is better on PS3 and most multiplats now are equivalent.
Also you used the argument that t...
Games on phones and tablets feel soulless to me. A quick puzzler to kill time in the doctor's office is great, but I prefer Vita and 3DS games head and shoulders above anything on a phone or tablet.
Game industry really thinks casuals are key, but it really feels that casuals are warping the game industry into something unrecognisable. Hoping that it snaps back with the release of the new consoles.

I'm waiting as well, and if a PS4 version never comes then I'll grab the complete edition on PS3.
Buy 2 R9 290Xs for $800, crossfire config, and kill the Titan and still come in $200 cheaper.
