Video was really well done.
It seems to me this will be like playing with a virtual controller on a touchscreen device.
I'm just glad he's not with Sony any more.
"Nintendo is still relevant to us because we can resell games on their 2 current consoles."
I don't get the disdain for Sony, their only real blunder was bringing out a pricey console and being arrogant about their position.
And unlike Microsoft who isn't taking a loss on the overpriced Bone, Sony was eating a couple hundred dollars for every PS3 sold in order to bring a high tech unit to the market, the price was actually warranted for what you got unlike Microsoft who cut technological corners and overpriced the Bone at launch to insure they make money on ...
Then Steam is going to Steamroll them right into obscurity. No way are people going to sit on this Bone for 10+ years with it's inferior hardware. It'll be lucky to last 5 years as it will sit firmly in 4th place behind the PS4, Steam, and Wii U. Samsung will likely own the Xbox brand by then anyway.
Very excited about Steam OS and Steam Machines. I believe this changes console gaming. No longer will there be a console generation or worries of backward compatibility, just upgrade the steam machine and you're good to go.
As for the controller, I'm not sure what they were thinking, to me it looks like it will play like playing on a touch screen phone, which is one of the worst gaming experiences in my opinion. Luckily they will likely make Steam OS work with othe...
Stable of douchebags, one of many reasons my support for Microsoft ends this gen.
Already own Shadow of Colossus and Kingdoms of Amalur, and with ICO last month I can now sell my unopened copies.
I knew I was going PS4 at launch and possibly a Bone sometime down the line after a price drop and redesign. But now with Steam Machines and Steam OS, this gen for me will be PS4 and Steam, and I couldn't be happier. No more Microsoft BS, can ditch Windows and Xbox and put that greedy company in the rear-view mirror.
Actually everyone said that motion gaming is good for 2 things, fitness and dance games, obviously this doesn't change that stigma.
Beachbody got a nice check from Microsoft I'm sure. But inaccurate heart rate isn't going to help much. However if it keeps stats and has worksheets that could be nice especially if you can use voice recognition to fill them out. Prob not worth paying a second sub for especially if you already own the workouts.
You're getting a lot of negative flak, but nothing you said was incorrect. People love to forget and love to eat Microsoft PR, but facts are facts.
Ignored the gimmicks? Kinect and TV are the biggest gimmicks going.
A few reviews I've heard actually say the rumble in the triggers is distracting. Will be interesting to see how this new feature plays out in the real world.
So it begins..
I don't get why Microsoft would buy the tech then shelve it. I personally think it looks pretty cool and would add some immersion, with that said I always thought Philips Ambilight was more distracting than beneficial so this could be the same scenario with illumiroom.
Didn't Kotaku just run a story that it couldn't even understand one voice saying the phrase "xbox on?"
Japanese not liking American products is a load of BS. The iPhone is an American product and sells loads over there. I'd say they don't like the Xbox because it doesn't offer much in the way of games Japanese people enjoy. Plus there are other factors like the name and the size that also put them off.
Great show, but in your conversation about value, you're forgetting that with PS+ you get a couple games with the console. And if you elect to not go with PS+ there are several free to play games available. It skews the value greatly in the PS4s favor.
