If you're not the most powerful machine on the market you have to make up for that disparity with exclusives.
Since Microsoft released Halo Master Chief Collection on November 11th 2014 they have released one retail exclusive, Screamride, a $40 budget game. And until Halo 5 comes out on October 27th there is only 1 other retail game slated for release and that is State of Decay, another budget release. That is nearly 1 year with just 2 retail releases.

Powers on the other hand isn't bad but I watched the first 2 episodes and haven't really been compelled to continue, will probably finish it eventually.

Never played it on the 360 and $24 on Best Buy GCU is the perfect price point. Plus retail exclusives are very hard to come by on the Xbox One since other than Scream Ride there hasn't been one since November, 6 months..!

That's usually how these deals work, not sure why this is news.
As for Sony getting the Battlefront deal, well when you are the market leader you get handed the deals first. And since the PS4 has over a 2:1 ratio of Worldwide consoles in peoples hands they are going to get the deals while Microsoft gets whatever Sony passes on. There's even rumor that CoD is moving to the PS4 this year.

I mirror this writer's sentiments. I slept out to be the first to get a 360 and loved playing games like Bully HD, Gun, and getting the arcade feel of a high score in the arcade classics with online leaderboards and Geometry Wars..
I loved making fun of the PS3, the lack of rumble, the insane price, etc. And even though I bought one only 6 months after launch when they dropped the price $100 it mainly was a bluray player.
That all changed for me in 2008...

Xbox hasn't had a retail exclusive released since Novembers Master Chief Collection sans the budget title Scream Ride. And the only other release in sight is the budget rerelease of State of Decay. Sales are going to be terrible for the machine until "preseason" is over.
