I don't think MS got as big as they are by throwing money at people.
And they are already starting to prove that you can't just buy studios to make great games.
What is true creativity in the gaming industry?
Nintendo has been with the same franchises for like 20 years (with Splatoon being an exception). Xbox had the same problem until they started buying studios (and even then they are struggling).
Indie games tend to be the most "creative" as they don't have the budget to make massive story experiences or decent servers.
Talking to Congress is such a joke now. They don't understand jackshit about any technology or industry made after the 80s and half of them are under some company payroll. Most of them probably don't even know that Japan has a free market and think the US is still at war with them.
Isn't that the whole thing Sony is arguing? That such deals are anti-consumer? You are literally making their point lmao.
Dodging the questions?
Even when people answer the question half of Congress has no idea what they are talking about. These are the same people that think "TikTak" is a Chinese/Russian probe.
Just because the story telling isn't TLOU or GoW doesn't mean it lacks it.
I think it's clear that Sony actually worked with devs to make their console. I mean, they worked directly with Epic to make UE5. They have also given loads of resources to their devs to actually make in-house engines. Besides ForzaTech and SlipSpace, MS pretty much relies on third-party engines such as Unity, UE, and whatever the developer they are working with has made.
In contrast, Sony has helped develop:
PhyreEngine
Naughty Dog's

I can't believe the damage control on this.
Also, I can't think of a SINGLE "AAA" game on PC that would run at 30fps with 12 teraflops behind it.
They may have disappointing behavior, but yours is illegal.
Only one real way to find out. Is this conclusion for Japan exclusively or on a global scale?
Well, MS has monopolized the PC industry with Windows and everything they need is set up already. Nintendo has never cared for CoD or the games Blizzard/Activision makes so they have nothing to gain or lose. So there are only really 3 consoles on the market and only 2 get the games already. Why would any other company say anything if it doesn't matter to them? Of course, MS would have more backup given they are a significantly larger company. This is what happens when a trillion-dollar co...
I would enjoy patches, later on, to make VR experiences viable for normal playing. Like how they made non-VR games VR compatible.
How many people still use a PS3? I'd assumed most of them moved.
I wonder if that includes procedurally generated games like Minecraft. Perhaps making a world from scratch is more difficult but I'd think programming a world to create itself would be easier.
Should change their websites name to "onemoreclick"
The open world worked for two reasons imo:
1. It was not huge and could be traversed relatively fast
2. Flying on a broom is fun
Makes sense, I just don't know if we are going to see those God of War and massive experiences that last 10s of hours.
Are VR games going to be standard 60-70$ or are they going to be more like $50?
Make sure to have a poop/pee bucket at the ready!
While it's nice to see Nintendo doing some consumer-friendly stuff it still sucks that their games never depreciate in value, their consoles cost so much yet are often underpowered, and they can't run third-party AAA much of the time. I get why a lot of people love Nintendo (I had a GameCube and a Wii) but I just kind of grew out of it. Never really liked Zelda or Mario. Super Smash Bros was the saving grace and Nintendo is AWFUL at developing pro gaming scenes.
