Metal Slug 3 was the best. The series started going downhill after that, particularly with 4 when it was just basically a mish-mash of all the other games.

1. Her promotion of Assassin's Creed would make it a good game

It's true. I was speaking to this bloke on Facebook, who knows a guy in Japan whose Dad empties the bins at Square Enix and he found a couple of poster mock ups for FFVII on the PS3.
He's not allowed to take anything out of the building, but he took some photographs on his cell phone but the X-Ray scanner at SE wiped his memory card so he couldn't upload them to the net.

I'm rarely impressed by graphics anymore, but Naruto Storm is something else. I was watching the E3 trailer yesterday and kept wondering if it was actually in game or just a rendered video.

Final Fantasy 12 saved the series. I think if I'd had to play the same "walk around until a random encounter occurs" type of game, then I probably wouldn't have finished it, but 12 breathed life into the franchise.
Oh, and Final Fantasy 10 was the best in the series, followed by 6 obviously.
