No, you're right on two counts: people are getting desperate, and it's going to take a heck of a lot more than 30 days of PSN Plus and a couple crappy PSN games to make up for it.
Personally, I'm going crazy. I have two little kids, and my way of unwinding after they finally go to bed is to play a little Black Ops or Bad Company 2 MP.
If it's not back up this weekend I'm going to have to seriously reconsider ...

You're right. The 2011 CoD will have to be something extraordinary to keep the franchise from burning out. Without an intact Infinity Ward I can't see that happening.
