Problem is that for devs like CDPR they have to take risks on these games. If no one bought the Witcher 3 then that studio would've went out of business. They're probably pouring even more money into Cyberpunk and that's a completely new IP. What happens if that under performs? Having a publisher like EA guarantees financial security and helps get your games out faster and helps you staff up. I can't even imagine what crunch time could've been like for a studio of that siz...
I think being bought by a company like EA is good thing. It allows them to expand the team and cut the dev times considerably. Same reason I want Remedy to get with a publisher. People harp on EA a lot, but Bioware has made some outstanding games under that umbrella and up until Battlefront and the performance issues on Battlefield I can say Dice has made some great shooters.
I don't like remasters, but damn I'd pay good money for No Mercy and the early Smackdown VS Raw games on my xbox one. Also wish Nintendo would allow Rare to remaster golden eye.
I'd love if they gave up the Metroid IP and let the remaining members at Armature partner with some of the 343 guys and do a legit FPS Metroid game. That would be too sick.
Nintendo is in an interesting position as a company. They make games that sell really well. Splatoon selling 2+ million copies is outstanding for a new IP and a lot of their first party games are over a million. But then again they get zero revenue from services, third party games sell poorly on the platform, there's limited third party, and I don't see a successful Nintendo home console ever selling well again. The answer might be to partner with Sony and MS and just make exclusive ga...
I can safely say I'm buying every game they're releasing next year outside of Halo Wars. Not my cup of tea, but it'll sell like hotcakes on PC. I would much prefer a third person squad based Halo game with Locke as the lead. This time with Mike Cotler doing the voice and make more action oriented.
Best executive in gaming besides Pete Hines.
MS owns all of those IP's.
From what I saw this game is a house of the dead rip off.
So why show dialogue choices if it doesn't affect the game? Lol come on man.
An entire industry missed the boat on the Iphone. I'm not sure why you're quoting Ballmer from almost a decade ago when Windows Phone and Blackberry had the entire market. No one thought the Iphone which was like 700 bucks with a contract was going to do this well.
Problem with VR is that it's a marketing nightmare because you can't really show it off and demoing it looks awkward. The content is also not there yet. The games don't look great and obviously there's not really a publisher that wants to make a huge AAA for it yet without seeing how it does in the open market. I tried Oculus Rift and the Gear VR( which the Gear is crap btw) and they're immersive, but still a gimmick. It's not enough to take over mouse and keyboard or ...
How is it a decade away when Crackdown comes out next year with full 100 percent destruction using cloud? Lol not to mention cloud compute is used throughout industries especially your precious Sony using it to stream games with little latency. Allard is not some idiot off the streets he's an industry veteran that knows his crap.
Damn the PS3 version looks better.
MS is just counting that paper, son. Best investment in a long time.
Both of the lineups are crap, although I'm enjoying Van Helsing so far.
Another game I was shocked at how good it was was Project Cars. This gen is getting a lot of good games. I even tried out Driveclub a couple days ago and it's not bad. The Western RPG's and Racing games have been great outside of maybe The Crew and the two NFS's.
Can't wait to try this on XB1. Been hearing a lot of good things about this game. I always welcome new car games.
Are there guns in Yakuza? I might pick it up later.
Damn i forgot all about WCW VS NWO. I would love to have that game due to the cruiserweight division.
