It's the only thing left in their arsenal; they can now only talk about sales. They don't care if a game receives a meta of 110 and is the best game of the century, if it doesn't sell well, they seriously won't care. Sales is everything to them now, it's all they have left to reason why the 360 is better (which is a pretty freakin' dumb reason, mind you).

Both MGS1 and MGS2 sold 7 million.
MGS3 sold under 4 million.
MGS4 sold over 4 million. (4.33M as of November)
IMO I think MGS4 will eventually get over that 5M milestone.
As for Killzone, it sold over 2 million so I expect Killzone 2 to hit 4 million at least. As for outselling MGS4, maybe. That's all I can say, I really don't know.

IMO both companies are now trying to lure the other side. Microsoft is desperately buying out all RPGs and Sony is pumping out really killer FPS games.
And we're all FPS fans... who the hell isn't? I don't recall anyone saying that FPS games suck back in the PS2 days.

but not really. Hell, you have to pre-order it to get the demo. If you mean the demo after launch, then yeah; the public gets it after the launch - most big name titles don't offer demos. Not until a lot later.
By far had (has) the best SIXAXIS Motion controls. Most games are waaay too sensitive and it feels quirky and awkward trying to control it. R&C nailed the sensitivity, and that's all that the SIXAXIS needs.
