No, Sonic is not back. Sure, it looks great but that's about it. The controls suck and aren't too responsive...not like Sonic 2 or 3. I like the feeling of control that is in Sonic 2, particularly bouncing around in Casino Night (Sonic responds nicely to a touch of the d-pad.) Also, the formula of "hit a spring, run through a set up course, and stop to do it again is old.) It's saving grace would be to touch up the controls, and have some decent boss battles.
Gears and Halo made the 360, but Gears truly gave me the itch to want to buy a 360. I prefer PS3 because of Naughty Dog and Insomniac, but I'd jump ship if they ever did. I'm not loyal to, or feel sorry for multimillion dollar corporations... I just want to play the best games.
Ah, the good old days. I had my Genesis just for the sonic games, but loved my SNES more. Mega Man X, Sttar Fox, Super Mario World, SSF II turbo... Awesomeness.

It is a bit difficult to get in at times. When I search for a match in guerrilla warfare I get "the world is full" message at times, or the connection error. But once I'm in I have loads of fun. Even though I've been playing b-ops, the heavier feel works for me (the kills feel "meatier" and more rewarding). The graphics are better than any other MP out there, with no tearing or slow down I could see. My only gripe is that I wish it was quicker to start another matc...
Lord Phoenix, you brought back some memories with the mart. Those dudes were rampant with the ps3 hate, when gears was the graphics king...how times have changed. Now, the 360 fanboys can't come in here and say " But we have gears!" and case closed. They have no firepower anymore. They are now relegated to being disagree ghost.
In RFOM I was scrambling for those health cannisters, and its not like there was a yellow brick road 'em. It adds to the suspense thinking death was a shot away on low health. Hiding in a corner for regenerating health is a easy pass...but you like it that way.
Wow...that is awesome. I never loved Resistance because of the graphics, but for the eerie feel, 50's wasteland vibe, and gameplay. Now it has the graphics TOO! All the dust and trees swaying giving the illusion of winds. The re-load animations look great, the chimera's weapon being flung after being blasted. 9-6-11 Day one.
Dudes, did it patch to a higher res? My wife says it looks crisp. My vision is crap, yo.
I dug K2 and if K3 can remain solid, or bring a bit more to the table... that's all I could ask for. If I had to review K2 a 9 would suffice.10's are subjective. Is anything truly perfect? No.
@kalikepona The 360 fanboys were merciless back in '07 when I first checked this place out. It was slim pickings then on PS3. I've definitely seen the shift over the years to PS3 fanboys having more ammo to back up their words.
Exactly, Wii should have a SF game by now. But it has to match or exceed SF on SNES, and SF64. Maybe on Wii2 with hd graphics?
I wouldn't even risk bricking my PS3 with these custom firmwares, or even getting booted from PSN. I understand both sides, but I'll pass.
I started gaming 22 years ago because of Super Mario Bros. Miyamoto started it all for my generation of gamers. It will be sad when his time comes, but it happens to all of us. Keep gaming, yo.
Been reading the comments about graphics... of course pc will hold the graphics crown. Pc tech evolves quickly with new gfx cards, processors, and whatever else on a regular basis. So pc is always on the bleeding edge. Consoles don't have the luxury of popping in new tech under the hood every couple of months, and to me that's the charm of console gaming. Im satisfied with sticking with a certain piece of hardware for it's lifespan, and it's alright. Besides, can I play Unchar...
A bit too much of hype? Uncharted 3 is getting polished right now, and a handheld may have the power to run it? Maybe with a '06 PS3 price tag ;) It will have killer looking games no doubt.
Dark Sector was ok. It had good visuals and decent gameplay. The glaive and gun combo was interesting, and with a few tweaks it could be a winner.
Some people were questioning Freddy being in MK. What?! Freddy pretty much invented weird and gruesome fatalities, kids. Though, his look should have been based on Robert Englund...but not all horror icons belong.
