Exactly his argument is dumb as hell, he knew damn well the limited time frame of relevance that comes with purchasing a mid gen upgrade. It's always been like this so I'm confused why he's treating it like it's something brand new.
PS3 had 512 mb ram, PS4 had 1.8 tf. Trust me when I say those are limitations don't and I'm positive most devs don't want to be held back by.

It's up to the devs really on what fps they want to pursue, these 2 consoles are more than capable of pushing 60 fps but graphics sell console do that's what devs will aim for over fps, they will push the GPU to a point that 60 fps isn't a feasible option
Yo SSX 1, tricky and 3 were stellar games that everybody needs to play, damn I can't wait to get an SX just So i can play it in 4k.
My Xbox one broke so no playing it there though I still own it on GameCube
I'm a controllers guy as well, I never bought a pro or a 1x just cuz I figured next gen would be BC so I opted out of the upgrades. Though I'm not a special editions kinda guy I would kill for a GoW ps5 and a halo 6 SX(kinda guaranteed at this point)
I've own every console of every generation, next gen will be no different. Lol I can promise I don't have 92 consoles but I've done a fair bit of gaming in my 26 years on this earth
