Steam machine is just a bi-product of SteamOS, If Sony or M$ only make money on software why are Valve any different, their money comes from software sales. If their OS in 2-4 years times even performs games 10-20% better than windows most people would convert to SteamOS.
Why play with windows with less FPS and stability if SteamOS can out do it? Lets be fair any PC gamer knows windows is pretty heavy handed on your hardware for gaming.

How would any other company be any better? Companies like Foxconn are used because they are in countries with very cheap labour.. Make a PS4 in any western country and the thing will cost 4x as much as it does manufactured in China, Foxconn employees already get paid 3x as much as any other hardware manufacture in china since the disgust with Foxconn has be going on for years.. changing manufacture wont make a single difference.

If you like the game buy it, I've downloaded a few games on PC, I've owned originals on PS3 which I am allowed to do by my countries law as long as I own the original. Most of these numbers are grabbed from steam thinking every PC user uses Steam they fail to realise 1000's of people don't buy steam versions on PC either so using steam numbers for what people play on PC is stupid.
No SoE have been making PC games for many many years and have never had a connection to the playstation brand. They are separate entities

Play PS2 on ultra, amazing game not as good as original (personal opinion) but still an amazing game. it was said many moons ago that they will continue to update graphics of the game as many of the textures are kinda blurry in certain areas of the game. Forgelight does as it names says lighting effects and the lighting effects are top notch, for years i was hoping they would bring it to a console, instead i bought my new PC for it as i had many problems playing Planetside 1.

Shame you over price for all your digital games EA, Paid £44 for PC version of BF3 just so i was ready to play on day release. When i could of bought the disc for £25. I'm not buying from Sony or Microsoft so why should i have to pay for the cut that these company get from the sale of each game for their respective consoles.
Never buying from Origin again when i can get most of EA's games around 40% less from any where else.
A good gaming machine doesn't require thousands few hundred extra than a PS4. Your TV probs cost more at one points and wont have the same sound quality as a dedicated sound card or as higher resolution as a PC monitor.. I spent £1200 on my PC that includes everything I play all my games on ultra. To get a TV even close to a similar set up as my PC you would need a separate surround sound system and a top of the range LED TV.

Lots of ram always good but my problem is what use is all that ram if say 8 years from now technologically specking the CPU/GPU will be as dated as my 70yo gran? You can put 120gb of RAM in to some Motherboards but if your only using a 8800GTS and a Intel Pentium D duel core your game going to run just as shit as the same spec machine with 4gbs of ram.
I've seen petitions for console ports of BF3 to match PC anyone can make one so its not unlikely for someone to do so every platform has a few idiots. ARMA 3 in beta to to expect 10's of thousands to be playing is stupid, not every PC gamer owns steam and in peak hours there up to 6mil people on. Dota 2 is only game people play on steam? funny how no one on my friends list even owns dota 2. oh and even tho world of warcraft sucks arse there more people playing that everyday than any other game. I own consoles and a PC and PC gamers play far more varied games than Console gamers.. games die quick and hard on consoles PC multiplayer games...
PC sales are declining cos no true PC gamer buys pre built PC from any of the main manufactures. Why pay £1000 for a older i7 4gigs of ram and a crappy low budget GFX card whats really worth between £70-120 when you can spend the same amount of money on a custom built machine from places like Overclocks and scan.co.uk which will play all the latest games on ultra. PC gamers are not idiots they either build there own or get a smaller PC gaming specialist to do it for them.
