Oh I know, but in the middle of a match it would be nice to 'feel' the impact of the bullets in a more visceral way - Some form of screen blur, more obvious blood splatter or something like that.
As it is now, I don't really feel the urge to look at my health indicator because I don't feel 'in danger', then next second I'm dead because I've been shot several times and didn't notice the tiny direction indicator.
It's fun, but I found a few things disappointing: The character doesn't really feel 'weighty', the guns seem under powered and it's very hard to tell when you're being shot & how much damage you're taking.
A mini-map would have been nice too.

Have you played UNCHARTED? If not then it might change your mind about cut scenes.
As long as they're well made, I can handle a cut scene of quite some length. Those in DRAKE'S FORTUNE were truly exceptional and made me WANT to watch them because they were so well crafted, and flowed into the actual gameplay seamlessly.
The characters were fleshed out amazingly well in (relatively) short movies for the first game too, especially villain Eddie (I was sad when he died!) so I can only boggle at what ND deliver for AMONG THIEVES.
