Plenty of people do say that about UNCHARTED 2 chum, yet not once have I taken exception to it. Seriously, don't get superior with me before sorting out your 'facts'.
Gather a little intel before mouthing off there, sunshine.
I played Halo, found it generic and never went back.
I played half of Halo 3, found it tedious and bland, but when my 360 cracked the disc so I couldn't finish it, I honestly had no inclination to anyway.
So as painful as it must be to you, just accept the fact that Bungie didn't invent the FPS, the gaming world doesn't revolve around Halo, the sun doesn't shine out of Masterchief's arse and that t...
Seems that two people here (at least) should indeed find a new hobby.
And yet out of all those games coming for the 360, I've just been told that the most anticipated by the "hardcore" is Halo Reach.
Speaks volumes doesn't it?
I guess you're one of those 'sales obsessed' people I was talking about.
Don't you find it worrying that "the most anticipated game of 2010 for hardcore xbox fans" is, once again, a 'HALO' title?
EDIT: Funny how KILLZONE 2 is "just another FPS" while Halo Reach is for the "hardcore". Nowt worse than double standards.
Finished the game, said to myself "Is THAT what everyone was raving about?" and traded it in.
Apparently that makes me a 'gaming heretic'.
D'oh...
It boils down to:
If you have a 360 then you buy Halo and like it.
If you have a PS3 then you buy God of War 3 and enjoy it.
If you have both then you buy both and like them. If sales of either one enters into the equation for YOU, the gamer playing the actual games, then you really should find a new hobby.
There we have it! The game succeeded, it has achieved it's goals (surpassing many of them) and is an unqualified triumph.
So allow me to adopt my local vernacular for a moment and say "SHUT YER GOBS!" to the whingers in general, and STREWTH2009 in particular.
And that should be the end of it....
...but it won't be.
Well, it's on PS3 so of course it's a "gimmick". If any other console spearheaded this it would be the second coming...
Didn't think it was that bad actually. Some of the visuals were a little bland, but hopefully the full game would offer more variety. Definately not a first-day buy (by a long way!), but I may pick it up later on.
Eh? I'm downloading this very minute...
Didn't know 'opinion' was the new 'gospel truth'.
Of course, I was just praising how cinematic the GAMEPLAY looked, but I knew someone would turn up to make the 'movie' jibe.
Wow, it IS like an 'interactive movie', but in a GOOD way! Very moody and atmospheric.
And I want a pair of those glasses!
ND have already qualified their "pushing the PS3 to it's limits" statement, so I can well believe UC2 visuals being improved on in the future.
Regarding GOW III... As it stands, I rate Uncharted higher than the E3 demo, but as that was an older version, who knows what's been going on behind the scenes.
"...walked onto the poorly lighted stage..."
"...revealed something Sony should have done a billion years ago..."
Can't anybody just report the actual news anymore? Why all the flowery "we're funny" bullplop?
Never mind STREWTH2009(last year's model), you have a WHOLE '1' point on Bayonetta to lord over us now - You're run out of everything else.
No need to be snippy! He didn't like the demo, neither did I. Doesn't make either of us some kind of freak with no right to pass judgement on it.
The 360 stuff just seems to me like 'more of the same' (Halo AGAIN, GeOW AGAIN), whereas the PS3 lineup features genuinely ORIGINAL titles (Last Guardian, Heavy Rain).
The 360 doesn't seem to be getting the software trouncing it got in 2009, but I still think Sony wins on quality & original ideas over MS 'playing it safe'.
Sorry, but I found AVATAR a terrible movie full of clichéd plots and clichéd characters - Sorry to see a brilliant science fiction film like MOON pass by with far less fanfare while this tosh gets undeserved (in my opinion) adulation because it had a metric ton of money spent on it.
I wouldn't give the game houseroom either - No way is Cameron getting anymore of my loot.
EDIT: I consider THE ABYSS the best film Cameron has done yet irony demands that'...
