For console, you pay once and it works just fine for entire console-life (at least for PlayStation). I am more than happy with current quality of graphics in latest games e.g. GTA5 considering that the hardware running it is 6years old AND has just 512MB RAM (256MB for ...
With all due respect to PC gamers, I'd rather spend $400 on console than $1000 on just this card (plus other PC components) which usually get obsolete within 2 years.
I still remember working part time during college to save $$$ for my first latest-cutting edge GPU and playing games on it for 1 1/2 years when GTA4 launched. That cutting edge GPU looked like a stone age cave artifact for running GTA4 :(

Was really hoping for GTA 5 on PS4
SSD = Higher cost
7200rpm = Higher temperature and (may be) noise
5400 = Sweet spot
If you are concerned about latency, buy a hybrid drive (e.g. 1TB 5400rpm 64MB cache). Problem solved :D
P.S. - You might consider waiting for Black Friday deals to shop for HDDs. I'm pretty sure you can find 1TB - 1.5TB drive at awesome price.
