Totally agree with you. People that say they can't tell the difference between 1080p and anything lesser is so full of it.
Play COD on PS3 then play it on PS4 There's a very noticeable difference...
Play AC4 on PS3 and then PS4..the game almost looks next gen..I was in awe at times with AC4...and I never ever purchased an AC game in my life until PS4....
1080p makes a big difference at least for me.
I have a PC. Hooked up to my HDTV as a real media player. No PAY WALL to watch my media. I can even use Pirate Bay and watch it on my TV..not to mention Netflix, HBO Go, you get the idea.
I use my PS4 for playing games at 1080p and 30-60fps. Which a next generation CONSOLE gaming experience should be in 2014.
I would highly advise you go Buy a Game Console.....not a media set-top box you can talk to.

For one, the Cloud means Always Online, Always Connected.
For example Titian Fall and Forza 5 are good examples and they are not using the power of the so call cloud to the most potential.
If a Next Generation console needs 2 years to compete with it's nearest competitor in terms of resolution and frame rate there's a problem.
X1 is not worth the price of admission for me this generation. I've always own at least two consoles.....

Second, you say Indie only...what is Titian Fall? It's only online only, no offline modes, no split screen, a very clear lack of content/ playlist when compared to main stream FPS, no single player campaign, no leader boards and Titian Fall is suppose to be an online only FPS....at full price...made by a total of 80 people.
They are games on the PS4....Over 60 games available currently including free-to-play and not to mention Playroom which is not included in the 60. And playroom has 3 fun gaming experiences in one..

Same as blu-ray and HD mobile phones. I expect playing my games at a minimum 1080p and 30 fps or higher. It's next generation for goodness sake.
A good example is Assassins Creed, even tho it's a port. It looks really really good at 1080p.
