In all honesty I don't think the ps4k as they call it will do anything to games. I think it'll add a media player capable of putting out video in 4k resolution. I don't think Sony wants to run the risk of fragmenting their fans. I think the ps4 is what it is from a gaming Perspex and for Sony if they can ride it out for years that's good for them.
They need a new system to get 3rd party support so the upgrade is not for them.

Actually it hurts because your trying to sell as many copies as possible. They can show the game a week before release and if it's good it'll get bought.
