GTA IV is the main reason you should be more excited for GTA V more than any other that came before.
Don't you see? GTA IV was their bad game... it's done now, out of the way, behind us.
With GTA IV, R* finally felt some backlash from fans, something they've never really had before. They now know exactly what people think is fun and what is boring.
Those who have played The Ballad of Gay Tony know that R* have already begun to learn from there mist...

MGO wasn't a core part of MGS4 because MGO was a separate game in itself, it could even be bought as a stand alone disk.
And yes, it was definitely wanted. It's probably the best MP game to date and I don't see much hope for something better coming along anytime soon

Well, I wouldn't even say the gameplay anything special either. All you gotta do is hide behind cover and hold R2 until you beat the game, basically.

MGO was, and still is the most tactical online shooter this generation, speed and precision only got you so far if you didn't have a team with a game plan.
Too bad most of you shunned it because you didn't want to take the time to get a Konami ID, or because of a bit of start up lag... or even because you were so brainwashed by the plethora of FPSs coming out every year that you couldn't adjust to a new control scheme. Shame

Rapid firing rocket launchers... swords that allow you to lunge at someone half the map away
Yet you spawn with AR = cant kill anyone further than 5 feet away lol. ie disadvantaged.
These power weapons would be fair if you earned them with 'in round' points like MGO, but they are just first come first served pick ups, whoever gets ...

It wasn't their first attempt, it was their third. MGO came with the Subsistence version of MGS3, and Portable Ops also had online.
This announcement breaks my heart, especially whenever they promised they would support it for 10 years.
Every other online game is miles beneath the depth this game had, best online game I ever played.
I simply cannot understand the question. =/
There are plenty better games out there than Uncharted.
Like Bioshock, which actually has a story, unlike Uncharted which only has a theme.
Or Batman, which actually has good varied gameplay, leveling up and unlocking things that change how you play the game... unlike Uncharted, which just gives you a section where you climb, a section where you shoot, and a section where you solve the most simple (time consuming and boring) puzzle ever.

Final Fantasy XIII had the best story in any game or movie to come out in years. If all I had to do to see it through to the end was tap X a load of times... then so be it, I enjoyed every second (apart from that long part just before the end :P ).

The year of the playstation began midway through 2008 with the release of MGS4, and has continued ever since, with its frequent releasing of consistently better exclusives (than its rivals).

You must be aware of GTA4's bad rep for being 'the boring one'? The comment in which I was originally replying to should be as much of an indication of that as you need. Or even the fact that there is an article that is basically reading 'bring back the fun stuff'!
