You are comparing machines that have a huge price difference.
The arcade machine is targeting the casual audience while even the 40gig is still appealing to the more hardcore.
I will say the PS3 has more features for the extra $$$, but a casual just looking to play games isn't looking at a BR player or even knows/cares that the machine has a hard drive in it. Hasn't the Wii proved this?
PC has the advantage on constantly updating technology to have better experiences but consoles made this game what it is also the extra dev time helped this game to be better than the console version. What an unfair fight and for PC nerds to use it as some rally cry of why PC gaming is so much better is lame.
As a personal preference I can't stand K+M and I'd rather not game at all then play games on the PC's with their constant software and hardware problems.
All these specs make my head hurt! Just give me good games!
The PS3 has some beautiful games. The 360 has some beautiful games.
Hopefully both will push the other and continue to improve them.
MS has a limit on what the 360 will see even on external which is 120gig and even if you wanted to put in a 120gig drive MS signs it so you need a special security sector added so it's possible but a PITA.
The PS3 is a lot easier and cheaper to upgrade the HDD.

I can say that yes the Wii is highly focused on making games for kids and girls.. But the PS3??? Focused as in only appealing to the hardcore?? I think if any console is suffering from an identity crisis it's the Movie machine or is that game console PS3.
That the PS3 is a quality built box, but it is not the best game console and I am not biased I own both a 360 and PS3. I do think the 360 is the best for gaming.

Dude, this game is great.. I will agree it's not doing a whole lot new here besides the timeshifting but this game deserves better than that. Graphics are great, destructable environments, fun gun battles. I guess I didn't go into this game thinking it would be the next Bioshock so maybe I'm not as disappointed as a 5.5 seems to indicate. I'm about done with listening to any online review site because they obviously have different tastes/expectations than I have to a large degree.
Yes, please explain. Although I don't have the HD-DVD add-on I leave the console on all night almost daily..

I'd love to hear your defination of what HD means.
Does the 360 not output at 720p and 1080p?? Last time I checked the 360 does both and therefore is an HD machine. The games are what matter for MS while the PS3 wants to be many things. Don't give me some crap that because it has a standard DVD drive that the console is not HD.

they are a niche accessory because despite what you might see from the posts here HD movies is still a niche market. DVD continues to beat all HD formats in sales and still the majority do not own an HDtv.

I will keep this relevant to game consoles but what is so inferior about the 360?? It's a game console and the games are looking spectacular and it's up to the dev's to provide new and creative experiences. MS gave the dev's easier and better tools to do accomplish that how is that inferior??
