This is exactly how the RRoD started. People were in denial, saying it was localized and that "no way it can have a failure rate above %3" and then it started spreading like wildfire.
But I've never had the RRoD and I've never had a problem with my PS3 so maybe I'm lucky?
You say the X360 sucks but it does everything most people wanted from this v2.0 update and has done it since launch.

the numbers are going to settle back down right before the holidays. Once the Christmas shopping season kicks into full swing the numbers are going to go back up. With the AAA titles coming like Uncharted and the 08 line-up the numbers will not look this low again.
Damn, 360 handed out the ass whoopin in sept. but I don't think anyone was surprised by this.. The PS3 is flitering dangerously with that sub 100k number.. Will be interesting to see Oct and if the 360 continues it's momentum. With the PS3 going $399 in Nov, not too much will probably change for the PS3 in Oct.

360 has achievements, voice chat in lobby, a better game invite system (by default), custom soundtrack support(by default), rumble. But I think we are splitting hairs here.
It's really up to the developers skill, time and money to produce a great game. All this crap that it should be ahead is garbage. Someone was listening.. I made this arguement about a week ago. Kameo at launch and R&C a year into the PS3's life(well, almost a year).
Nice to see a 360 launch title hold up to a year later title on the PS3. I don't agree with the smoother framerate as I think Kameo is just as good. Not sure if they are both running at 60fps or 30?

Both consoles are strong and have both good and bad points but neither are the "god send of consoles". Having both systems, now that does feel a little GOD like. =)

Graphics wise, it's the best looking FPS to date on any console. (Killzone 2 isn't out yet)
(official xbox magazine) gave it a 10/10. I'm playing it now and was in the MP beta. This game is some serious eye candy and fun!

Give it some time and perhaps we will start having simultaneous releases in retail and on live. I understand that you obviously don't like the service from your message but YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE IT since nobody is forcing you. You need to at least give MS some credit for trying something new and different with their console service. More HD content will come as publishers/studios get more comfortable with the service.

But Gears of War PC ships on a DVD9 as well. I know they have an HDD to work with but so does the 360 and Epic could make all the additional chapters/maps available as DLC. I think they just want to give incentive to buy the PC version.
