@SilentNegotiator
Some do. Not necessarily out of kindness, but if theres a sequel coming out in a month, giving it away for free now is a great marketing tool. It's pretty obvious the majority is paid by Sony tho. Like Far Cry 3 or Dragon's Dogma, nothing to gain from giving it for free right now
The 5 million number the guy used for LoL is the concurrent record Riot reported back in march. It's pretty obvious the GTAO figure used is NOT concurrent value, so article is bullshit.
The values they're comparing it to is concurrent players. That means number of players online AT THE SAME TIME. This would mean almost everyone who bought GTAV was online at the same time. Which is obvious bullshit because of different timezones, server issues, and people who are still playing the SP and haven't even tried GTAO (like me).
At best, the number they used for GTAO was the number of players that went online at least once, but then it would be demolished by...
I like how the article is about MMOs yet the pictures on #2 are kids playing league of legends (I'm not 100% sure on the third, it might be the chinese league launcher tho). #14 is not even related to MMO's at all.
@admiralvic funny you should mention the vita Killzone. Persona 4 Golden came what? 4 months earlier on NA?
Hell, there have been methods of circumventing HDCP at least since 2011. This article is dumb.
The reason the PS2 won that gen against the superior Xbox was not because it had similar multiplats despite being weaker. It was that it had similar multiplats while being CHEAPER.
This gen, the most powerful console is also the cheapest. Xbone has nothing going for it in the gaming department. It's more expensive and it has less powerful hardware. As for exclusives, it has only 1 system seller on it's launch window (till the end of March 2014) and it's not even a...
I have to say, regardless of the validity of any claims by the devs, this quote is ridiculously funny:
"I have played Forza, Killer instinct, and Ryse on the Xbox One. They look as good as the games I play on a high end PC. Ryse reminded me of Darksiders II."
Darksiders 2... one of the least visually impressive games from the last few years... That's what he compared Ryse's looks to. I mean Darksiders 2 looked good on console, but the PC por...
Maybe because there really isn't anything negative to say about this? Other than the fact the kotaku guy is really awful at FPS games.
Kinda Disappointed Infamous: Second Son isn't on the Best of Show list. It's easily the best game from the show for me, followed closely by Watch Dogs.
Considering the developer? Don't expect much.
It will work, you just won't be able to play any games, and potentially log into XBL. But you can do everything else...
There's Planetside 2 on PS4, does anyone really care about this?
technically they're right, I fully expect the X1 to sell really well. It just won't sell that many games, it appeals more to non-gamer audience.
I don't get why people are giving so much free publicity to Polygon. They are a trash review site, I mean, they gave Diablo 3 a perfect 10 score, and under 7 for Ni No Kuni. Should just be added to banned list from n4g sources tbh.
The only thing you can't acquire through normal play in warframe is the advanced color pallets to customize your gear and frame. Even then, they give you about 12 colors for free. Not only that, but everything takes less than 10 hours to farm (except for the clan research stuff which takes more, but you can't buy that with real money anyway)
My guess is PS3 doesn't charge to have a f2p game on PSN store, unlike XBL, plus it's well known that patching is significantly cheaper in PSN compared to XBL
> have you tried MK ?
> just was plagued with the worst online mode ever implemented in a fighting game
WTF? Have you ever played fighting games? MK is easily top 3 EVER in online modes and netcode.
It's justified. Sony did an 'ok' PS4 reveal, but they talked about the main features, showed some, and then dedicated the majority of the event to showing the new games on it. Everyone was expecting MS to one-up them, and they show less 5 seconds of gameplay footage on their event. They spend more than half the event speaking about their TV features.
A lot of people are mentioning that this is only US and not worldwide, which is probably true, but the biggest thing is: Microsoft knows jack shit about PSN access numbers. It's literally impossible for them to make this claim unless Sony released their numbers, which they do every now and then, but haven't done in a while, certainly not in August.
