Neo is not competing with Scorpio. Neo is apart of this gen. Phil Spencer said he wanted Scorpio to go beyond generations. "Can Sony beat Microsoft" ? Sony are already beating Microsoft. This gen has already been secured.
I reckon they will skip it and go to Paris gameshow again. PSVR will be released by then and Imo they will announce neo for a December release.
Sony don't need to do that. By the time Scorpio comes out ps4/neo is going to be ahead by 30+million in sales. Scorpio is not going to change that. Didn't Phil Spencer say in the xbox conference when announcing Scorpio that he wanted to go 'beyond generations'? They want to take it out of this gen as far as I can tell. I understand people want to compare Scorpio with neo so they can brag they have the bigger flop. But they shouldn't be compared. You don't go sub 1080p ...
£500-600 = $700-$800. If Scorpio is in this price range and with all their exclusives coming to PC they hand the console market to Sony on a platter.
And it will still sell worse than ps4.
Unfortunately Microsoft are not in a dominating position and are not going to be with Scorpio. Sonys market share by the time Scorpio releases is going to be dominant. Sony exclusives are going to be dominant too with xbox exclusives now on PC. It's great xbox owners are getting a powerful console, but I don't see it even putting a dent in Neo or even the PS5 with a likely 2 year head start.

But then you know the ps6 will arrive a few years after ps5.5. So do peeps then ignore the ps5.5? It doesn't work like that. Peeps will definitely buy the PS5.
PS4 doesn't support ps3 games because of the cell architecture of the ps3. If the ps5 has the same pc oriented architecture as the ps4 then BC will be very possible.
Didn't Phil Spencer say that with Scorpio they want to 'go beyond generations '? Apparently it's going to be equivalent to a geforce gtx 980. 4.5 times more powerful than xbox one. 4K gaming which is difficult even on highest end PC's. Scorpio is more than just a simple upgrade to this gen.
The time frame is also a bit weird, it will be 4 years after xbox one when this releases, if we say Sony will produce the PS5 it will most likely be 2 years after Scorpio rele...
Personally I don't think neo and Scorpio should be compared tbh. Neo seems to be more of a boost to their VR and just a compliment to this gen without really straying too far from the standard ps4. What I took from Scorpio felt like Microsoft were trying to start off a new generation and to put the xbox one behind them. I know they said xbox one games will work on the Scorpio but with the power they seem to want to input the graphical difference between Scorpio and One might be quite big....
Ironic, most of my time on PC is emulating old PS1 Rpg's lol. Pc ps4 still a great combo imo.
Shame I really like the look of it. Look forward to seeing more.
I'm all for this. The first Crash trilogy is fantastic, seeing them rebuilt from the ground up is just awesome. Great to know a new generation of kids can enjoy this the way a lot of us did back in the day.

Neo for me depending on just how much of a difference it is to my ps4. Own a pc so no need for Scorpio.
