Yeah, they definitely play a pretty substantial role. Living outside the US and the UK, we definitely pay the price. Anyone else in "developed" countries have nothing to worry about really.

Agreed. We're a loong way from then though. SOny and Microsoft both plan on stretching their console's life cycle as long as they possibly could.
If I had any patience, I'd wait until the end of next summer. That way, most of the juicy titles like Titanfall, Destiny, Infamous, Watch Dogs and so forth. As of now, it's only worth it if you plan on playing CoD or BF4.
I kind of see the jump, it's definitely not as large as the last generation, but I think we'll see the jump in a few months. Right now, as of launch, it doesn't really seem worth it.
Maybe after all those features start rolling in and the awesome 2014 lineups start rolling in. I think a year from now, we'll get our money's worth

Right now, the franchise is a no longer a game. It's a marketing campaign, and I have to admit, CoD's ads are pretty damn good.
Seems like they REALLY want to include this game in our lives.

Yeah, battlefield 3's campaign wasn't too hot, Dice even admitted that. However, this trailer alone trumped my expectations. I got a feeling it's going to be a great one.
