Yes, this isn't a console title, but it's a Games for Windows Live title, and as far as I know, the first PC exclusive title that has achievements (all other titles like Universe at War/Fallout 3 were multiplatform) which is VERY cool.
glad it survived!
Surprised Atari didn't pick this up, it has snapped up about every other title :)
what you mean hype? I don't think anybody has even seen it in action yet. It COULD be good :)
the demo was region free and had no checks, that's the only reason why you could download and play it on a retail unit. And it worked before, including co-op, so for it to all of a sudden after a week not only no longer work, but to become "corrupted" isnt just a unintentional DRM check, but smells like foul play.
yes it does set a disturbing precedent ...
not really cheating, the trick has been known and published plenty of times before, so it must have been condoned.
Just a little disturbing that they can go into your system and f**k s**t up because the content you have on there isn't up to their liking.
how is this "major hints" ? All the article recaps is Major Nelson saying the community wants a sequel, and the other party saying it's their favorite game.
Not sure what the actual podcast says, but the quotes in the not-so-news article certainly have no hints, let along "major" hints, nothing but speculation.
Yes the game was a success, and a sequel might very well happen somewhere down the line, but this article confirms jack.
by the time this game comes out, DirectX 10 will be the standard, who knows, maybe Windows 7/DirectXX 11 will be out :)
it was in development for those particular platforms, while over at Brash, but since they went belly up Atari picked up the publishing rights for the PS2, Wii, PC and NDS editions, but not the Xbox 360 (for whatever reason).
I agree, at first i thought the levels/maps weren't finished yet :)
actually the National Geographic press release this info came from (yesterday's announcement that it set up a games division) has it listed for November, not December.
I wouldn't say it looks awful, but I do agree that the CryEngine 2 may be a bit too powerful for what they seem to be doing.
"improving your Reyvateil's stats, the Dualstall system. This is done by … having the Reyvateil take a bath together."
Making your characters take a bath together and include bath soaps or bath toys? Is this a bad script for a gay porn movie or something ?
the multiplayer is actually not too bad, but be prepared for a long download, it's 5.5GB big...
No wonder they are offering it a few days in advance of the "free weekend"
the rules may be a bit strict, and while its an M rated game, the venue where the event is being held has an open bar (free alcohol) so we had to be a bit harsh on the rules...
I've been a Metallica fan since Kill Em All, and honestly, the My Apocolypse track sucks.
It's incoherent, and unlike The Day That Never Comes, Lars uses the high strung snare drum again .. *barf*
No matter what, I'll be buying the new album as well :P
yea graphically it looks top notch, just very surprising that there isn't any multiplayer to extend the replay value.
Nobody expects story to be involved in multiplayer, that why there's the singleplayer campaign.
weird
don't we all ..
No idea what Activision was thinking, dropping this for Spyro, seriously!
yea, the date was only moved forward in europe, not NA, that happened a while back already.
The games that support Games for Windows have a small app that runs in the background, you press the "home" button and it pauses your game and pops a small menu bar at the top of your screen, and then you can connect to GfW, giving you the same features as XBL (friends list, send emails etc.)
So your friend probably bought it through Steam and then connected to GfW once he was playing it.
