Can't point to framerates as ive only seen a few games actually run on the new xbox hardware.
Microsoft's studios have yet to prove to me that they aren't holding Xbox back. Sony studios have yet to disappoint. I agree that it might hold studios back to the extent of having to worry about 2 consoles, but ps5 has the 3 modes so why not use it. It was reported end of last year that Sony require games to run on Ps5, that said I think that it helps developers plan and deliver to a loyal fanbase and next gen. I have a ps4. As of now i cant afford a 4k tv and not a ps5 without spend...
I don't see a problem with wanting to keep your fanbase happy and when they are ready upgrading. Its not like the games are releasing on another console...its still a playstation. The company decided to use the ps4 the way Microsoft is doing with the S. The digital is to be competitive price wise and for people who play digital only it is a blessing. Some people me like myself like to physically own a game. This is just Sony trying to cater to it's audience.
Depends on the cost of all the components. The audio haptics... I think a $500 ps5 will look bad next to a 12tf xbox also $500 so i think they will go cheaper but not much. $450 is the sweetspot with digital $400 just to get to 18 mil or so then start to bundle games. Then again taking a $ 50 x 18 000000 hit is rough on a company so end of the day the inside components will decide.

I see the point you are making, if you can get away within a $500 budget i understand that, but if a user has 0 pc I can also understand rather getting a console... I used to play pc games but the constant upgrade I just couldn't afford it so I stopped I think 2001 round about. Got a ps4 a few years back so for me it seems sell the ps4 and get a ps5 would be wiser. The other thing was the constant driver, download, virus , spyware upgrades. The windows constant nagging, ...

Microsoft is waiting for sony to announce so they can undercut and by taking a loss get the userbase higher than playstation with marketing a "more powerfull" console at the same or cheaper price. Sony is offsetting by pointing to haptics, ssd/io speed and haptics. Anything can happen... that is the waiting game both are playing. Ps3 struggled with a high price so I see a sweetspot of $499 , if they can achieve this ... or less then it will sell like hotcakes

For $499 you can take that powerful card...put it on the table and dream about the games you wanna play. No ram not even a mouse. The whole point of consoles are ease of use, power on a budget and game franchises to bring in the dough. Pc always was powerful and will be going foward, but it makes some developers lazy. The just add more hardware mentality costs consumers. Developers also sell less since piracy takes a cut of their hard earned work. If Microsoft and Sony cared about the best...
I understand the serious power Microsoft is flaunting, but I feel with the controlers, sound , io and ssd the ps5 is much more innovative. But not even nominated... possibly someone again trying to level the playing field by hook and by crook, it still wont matter though... games sells systems
