Wonder which projects they cancelled?
Hope they were all typical ubi live service projects ...
With more new studios popping up and adopting UE as their engine, I doubt the shader compilation stutter will go away anytime soon ...
Yes, few existing studios might remedy the issue in their future UE releases but newer studios rushing to deliver their first new game will likely fail to address the issue when porting the game to PC.
Personally, I actually don't want STALKER 2 launching this year given the state the studio's going through right now,
Let them settle and work on it undisturbed and release the much awaited sequel in 2024 without any unnecessary rush.
I just want the game to be good. Not another rushed game to meet a deadline.
This is STALKER we're talking about ...
Forza and Minecraft's included as well
" .. the latest info for Xbox games launching in the next few months, including The Elder Scrolls Online, Forza Motorsport, Minecraft Legends, and Redfall. "
Maybe E3 for Hellblade 2?
Fable ... I dont know ... feels like it was announced too early, similar to Pragmata and Outer Worlds 2
Good news,
but actions speaks louder than words ....
Damn ... so many new studios popping up ....
and guess what ... its all good news & profit increase for Epic Games & Tim Sweeney.
All these new studios will end up adopting UE, coz that's the easy route, instead of building proprietary engines.
that's good news for Console gamers, coz more frequent shiny new games.
but bad news for PC games .... coz more shader compilation stutters and botched launches.
You ignored the earlier statements and only focused on the last one.
Do you really want Remake of RE6? Or Remake of other Capcom's poorly executed titles?
Budget increased so scope increased ... and newer bigger scope requires more time.
.
No more Remakes after 4, please ...
Invest in Remake efforts for only the best of the bunch .... the one which deserves .... don't keep churning out Remakes for all titles ... especially not titles like RE6.
We need newer fresh games ... sequels and new IPs.
Out of the recent 5 AAA RE games ... 3 are remakes.
An adapter that slots into the proprietary port and takes in off the shelf SSDs on the end will solve much of the problems ... and I think such DIY projects have already been carried out ...
The problem is, how long the duration is of the deal between MS and Seagate .... so as to prevent such other 3rd party offerings from being available
Ling?
STALKER 2 unlikely next year ....
and given the state the studio's going through right now, I don't want it next year.
Let them settle and work on it undisturbed and release the much awaited sequel in 2024 or even 2025 without any unnecessary rush.
I just want the game to be good. Not another rushed game to meet a deadline.
This is STALKER we're talking about ...
One of my most anticipated game ....
Lol, remake? You serious?
And the article is talking more about Re-imagining than Remake ...
Played a few months ago .... it still looks spectacular graphically ....
What it might need is just a PS5 update to remove the black bars and add 60fps support. That's it.
And also release the PC port, that's already been shown off at SIGGRAPH, collecting dust in some dev's PC/repo.
Nothing more .... as the core game is still the same (short an...
Witcher III might now be the Second Highest-Rated Game of 2022.
But Ragnarok is still the Second Highest-Rated New Game of 2022.
All I am waiting for from Ubi is the Splinter Cell Remake.
... and will be cautiously keeping an eye out for AC Mirage (since it wont be an RPG) & whatever Ubisoft Massive is cooking (Star Wars and Avatar).
That's it.
