orakle44 is stating the bandwidth requirement for HDR.
Not the quality, local dimming or sustained brighness capability of HDR implemented on a TV.
There are 400nits HDR TVs too as well as sustained 1000nits Monitors.

I never said it's the defacto reason to buy a next-gen console.
I just mentioned its a nice bonus, OPTIONAL and practical feature to have.
Just imagine playing for say, Cyberpunk in current gen console and you've progressed pretty far.
IF you're ok to start anew in your next-gen console for a killer new must-have DLC/add-on. Then you're NOT the target audience. Simple.
BUT what if you want to continue where you left off? Use the same charact...

Save transfer might not bother some folks but its a good extra feature to have.
Especially regarding, for example exhaustingly long RPGs and getting updates later on.
So playing on a current gen console and then moving onto next-gen to experience the extra in-game content that too @ 60fps or RT enabled or whatever newer visual fidelity is a nice bonus.
