So ... both are in back compat mode ... or is there any discrepancy in versions?
So Velocity Architecture even with lower bandwidth, triumphed?
PS4: Continue the legacy ...
PS5: Rest easy ... Let me handle from here onwards.
TL;DR: If you take out the mentions of story.
In Short: A far better advert for the PS5 than its short length and last gen assets might have suggested.
Pros: Ray-tracing works very well amongst the skyscrapers, as does fast-loading and other next gen tricks.
Cons: The amount the game steals from Batman: Arkham is still outrageous.
@StoneyYoshi, yea I read the one-liner AMD published regarding Ray-Accelerators, but its still vague.
Even AMD is still not delving that much into RT implementation and performance info. They're focusing on rasterization on the PR front.
But "both companies using their own separate dedicated RT hardware" ?
Are you referring to Series X Hot Chips breakdown of custom ray-box implementation?
What else can they implement other than that AMD desig...
Still avoiding to comment on Dragon Age 4? And EA Motive's innovative title.
And more curious regarding what's Respawn's next game will be.
That has been established for quite a while now, that proper next-gen titles won't run off of the SATA storages on both platforms. You need the PCIe-based solutions for those.
But all games can be stored on the external SATA storages. Just need to perform a transfer from the external storage if the game you want to play happens to be a next-gen title.
Honestly, I don't know what RT API that'll be used for the PS version. Vulkan based?
And i don't know how RT is achieved on AMD hardware. Like dedicated RT cores on Nvidia hardware.
So ... If Sony's execution is better and efficient then we may see similar RT performance on both platforms.
Or else we'll see better RT on the XSX version, given more CUs to distribute the calcualtion.
Its good to see, that they finally improved the Female Eivor's face.
So how long one needs to be stuck with 667GB of fast storage?
.
Well ... fret not. Just get a good external USB-SATA SSD.
Minus the haptics, slightly higher load times and ever so slightly higher pixel count in the XSX.
.
The way this was advertised, I thought this'll be locked to the PS5 for a whole year.
Wonder how long The Medium will be Xbox exclusive.
Wait for benchmarks, then.
Shouldn't hardware reviews be Opinion pieces as per N4G guidelines?
@fall_
I know PS5's UI homescreen looks new but if you check the settings menu, its a lot similar to the PS4's UI.
So, its an iterative upgrade to PS4's Linux based OS. Like most OS nowadays.
It looks brand new because Sony hasn't drastically changed much since 2013. Only minor well needed timely updates.
Xbox updates their UI drastically every 2-3 years. Just check 360's UI. 3 complete overhauls with no resemblance to the previous ones....
"Congratulations on your new PlayStation 5 console."
Its 5th Nov. And that's Cyber-bullying.
Actually the above embedded video wasn't there when I commented.
The video was uploaded to YouTube later.
Still no game-play?
Other than the tease from the UI video.
I really hate the new webstore.
Cumbersome, less info ... and no freakin' labels!
Users get easily confused as to which one's a Season Pass, which one's a bundle and which one's the base game.
Dare I say unintuitive? Maybe not. But if given a choice, I'll prefer the older store.
"UI isn't next-gen" ?
6th is the 2nd embargo lift
Yea ... true.
I just used the VA term to refer to XSX's SSD.
