That is true.
However Steam is Valve's thing so in a way it's understandable if they do it on their own products.
But how often does a DIFFERENT company FPS game get a free weekend?
There was UT3(which honestly didn't do so well after a while), and another game I can't remember off the top of my head.
With that kind of trend, they may not be desperate, but one way or another they are hurting.
In all honesty the story was average. The gameplay was very fun however.

That's because the optimization of the game is bad.
In simple terms, they threw memory usage out the window when creating that game.
I'm not bashing on them, as Crysis is still one of the highest graphical games to date, but I'm just saying one of the reasons why the ORIGINAL game can't run at 60fps easily.

The main reason why Zynga was up there, was because of SPAM, not because people gave any legit reasons, but they went there because they got mail saying "Hey vote here", where as the rest of the world is not dealing with knowing who went to who'...

Personally I have it installed on my PS3, but it was more of trying out that feature if anything.

which makes me wonder about people. APPARENTLY when 1 employee does it, when ONE SINGLE PERSON does it, not only on articles, but some people(whom I won't mention), decide to either say that everyone that works there are idiots(etc and so on), or it's some company policy BS.
The point being, is that it's that SPECIFIC person that did that, and to be honest, that should be looked at against the person, not some overblown unnecessary "investigation".

Apparently you never knew that CS was on Xbox at one point in time.
There are PC screen shots to take in. Just because they canned it does not mean they threw everything out the window. Unless we see games in motion, docked up screen shots are unfortunately skeptical.
Remember the incidents with Forza 3 and Gran Turismo? Remember the situation with Final Fantasy 13?
