I also have heard from a few people that the modders literally get paid in steambux, so that whole "make a living" advertising point is completely false because not only do they get a measly 25% share, they also can only spend that share back to valve. The economics just do not work in the way that people are led to believe.

The worst part that most are unaware of is the modder doesn't even see a dime of that money until they've sold in at least 400$ worth of downloads. This leads to many charging more than what is deemed as value and it literally turns them into money generators for valve and bethesda.

Worse yet is Valve actively removing any donation links the creator posts, and they have literally encouraged the theft and stealing of other people's work in the paid mods.

I can't wait for the scene where Harry, Ron, and Hermonie rob the gringotts bank and the ministry of magic police wizards try to chase them all on broomsticks only to lose them due to a Broom'n'Zoom stop.

The modders that have uploaded paid content to the workshop do not realize that it is against the law to require skse to run any of those mods. Also we have instances like this

Note: The user was banned as were many others for exposing this practice.

-Pay for mod
-start game up, mod works fine
-week later
-update released for mod
-Breaks compatibility due to other mods installed
-can't get a refund due to the 24 hour limit

Even if you get a refund Valve still gets all of it back because it goes straight to your steam wallet instead of your bank from where it came from. This whole thing was designed so valve and *insert developer* could use the workshop as another revenue avenue....

My expectations for this fell down a well when I saw the dev was the same team that made that god awful MoH: Warfighter. They have a proven track record of making things as generic and bland as possible.

Looks like I'm going full nexus from now on. Why are people actually labeling mod making like it's a full time job? I make youtube content for fun and I don't expect to be paid just because I made someone laugh. Mod making is something you personally do out of your own time for others. Development is a term used to describe it like its a full time job, which its not. Donating is one thing, But putting full pay control behind random users will affect many other mod sites like the n...

They look identical except for the big jarring fact the E3 trailer is being shown like a movie where scripted events run amok and situations that are literally impossible from happening in any game known to man, e.g. soldier being shot then hanging off the ledge with one hand, first person reactions in non context sensitive environment. This same reveal was what Bioshock: Infinite did when it debut, but we all know how drastically different the final product ended being from the initial "...

The first game I remember having a season pass was Gears of War 3. Ironically, I remember gears of war 2 actually having 5 free maps if you bought the game new, as opposed to the later online pass that was implemented for Gears 3 a few years after, then months later they added a downloadable bundle for $20 that included everything released for the game that was later dropped to $10.

My quEstion is why they allowed you to fight against Tanya, Sindel, Baraka, and Rain in the story mode despite them not even being playable? They eveN gave Rain new kombos and Tanya is being released early june.

BF2 having 64 players wasn't the problem it was the map design that was the problem alongside the spawn locations and the huge advantage you had as a sniper, so naturally most people sniped in 64 player lobbies. The death star corridor was one of the testaments to that.

There are lots of impressionable people on this and many other sites. EA like so many others is good at taking advantage of these people. It's good to be open minded about anything you do, just don't let blind loyalty and impulse buying control what you purchase.

Just have the mod content like the HD models and redone soundtrack. Why can't a publisher save a ton of money and time and just pay the modder to have work done at porting their mod over or pay for the resources already made and just adjust them for the game.

I just wish we got some of the Japan only themes like the FF14, terraria, and the recent Hyperdimension neptunia ones. Some are free and can be downloaded through a Japanese account but some cost a few hundred yen and I don't have a way of adding yen to the account except through an export website that takes weeks to arrive.

It's a gateway effect and you need to look at the big picture to understand the problem at large. If enough people buy it, would you say it will personally affect the next fighting game from WB?

I don't care if there's easy fatalities and that somebody is buying them, but if I know that action affects the degree of extra content that goes into future titles then we have a problem.
