Oneechanbara, Senran Kagura, and Neptunia all feature heavy amounts of fan service and they had no problems releasing here. I think this actually has more to do with the cost of overseas localization vs the profit turnout. It just isnt worth the hassle despite the last 2 games selling better in the US then Japan
I can play any game for 400 hours too if its my job to play the game for long periods of time trying to find things. That statement is a pure fallacie. You can play any game you want for whatever amount of time you want and still not "see" everything. Why doesn't Jeff talk about how fun the content he's played is? I don't want 400 hours of "Infinite quests" and thats typically a bad sign if he's promoting how much content their game has versus how enjoyable...
@shloobmn3
Yeah because they totally don't have to compete with Fallout 4, Star wars Battlefront, Mad max, Just cause 3, Black ops 3, R6: Siege, MGS5, AC: syndicate, and the many other niche/AA titles spread out in between those. The sad part is we know that all those games will sell much higher on the PS4 then the xbox if the trend for the last 2 years is anything to go by.
The only thing the Xbox might sell better in is console sales but A. It's mos...
The problem comes down to market oversaturation on the Xbox side due to them releasing all their heavy hitters in the span of 2 months. The music genre of games died off eventually because of oversaturation on the market year after year with new expensive peripherals losing many peoples interest quickly.
I can bet you by december we'll be seeing NPD results with less than favorable numbers for the Xbox. Not terrible or bad just not good.
You're right but technically you can play any game for 400 hours and not see everything. Its just a fallacie statement most devs use these days. They shouldnt be bragging about how much content it has but how fun it is instead. Thats the sign of a dulled experience
I have heard this exact sentence before from bethesda 3 times since Oblivion released. I have heard Todd, pete, and many other devs make outrageous claims that were proven to be false e.g Skyrim having over 70 voice actors, burning down a mill and messing with the economy, and he even reverse lied about werewolves not being in the game 1 month before launch. So the game being finished adds no validity to any claims made by Todd or anyone else, they just like to Peter Molyneux people and every...
Kewl 3 bad games in 1. What could go wrong?
Cod Multiplayer takes general ideas from RPGs in its stat allocation, builds, and leveling up. Most of the media wouldn't compare it with FF7 and the comparison is extreme but I think the author making taking a statement like "It’s somewhat akin to games like Minecraft – if you give people the tools to express their creativity, they will …make stuff you never contemplated in a million years." and the author writing it out as "It will give players the same freedom as minecra...
Comparing premade buildings and objects to a voxel based game with block modeling is like comparing CoD multiplayer to FF7
"Let me just keep enabling this practice by allowing the free market to magically not spend money on this"
"Microsoft and great company in the same sentence"
@timotim
What the author wants: Microsoft to take any studio they own like Lionhead and have them make a new original IP that MS will make sequels of years later. This is taking a big gamble for MS as they need to invest in a lot more so then they would for any of the 3rd party Ips theyve funded in the past few years.
I believe this is what the author is trying to say despite how it was written.
@timotim
Why dont you read past the headline and read the comment above you like someone with sense. When did I talk about Sony being superior in any way? Furthermore the two games you listed are only available on a PS4 whereas that list you provided is filled with everything but what the article is asking for as seen in the above comment. The 3rd party rule thing with exclusives is listed because thats not what the author was looking for yet everyone is going full flamebait ...
@Wailuigi
It matters because thats what the author is talking about this whole time in the article. But everyone just devolved it into a console war like usual instead of reading and understanding it correctly. The difference between a game like Bloodborne and Ori has nothing to do with graphics or dev team, but rather I can only play Bloodborne if I buy a PS4. Whereas Ori if I own a PC or even a small laptop or an Xbox I can play it. Basically I don't need to buy a conso...
Finally someone with sense speaks
@timotim
That list is filled with 3rd party console exclusives which are also available on PC, a fitness gane, and games that arent even associated with Microsoft. 4 games on that list are what the article is talking about and if you're counting kinect fitness you might as well include all the kinect games including fighter within.
Honestly, sometimes I think some of the comments on articles like these are cases of viral marketing, when I see Xbox get re...
tbh the random junk scattered around in Bethesda ARPGs was completely useless since oblivion released in 2006. It took them almost 10 years to fix that with Fallout 4 but they had to devote some amount of time and resources just so you had a use for it finally. They should get some of that time and resources on the most important parts, but instead it seems they like spreading their team thin throughout the development process. Because of this their last entry, Skyrim ended up being a mile wi...
Video games create unrealistic body images. Meanwhile, in hollywood and the media in general https://pmchollywoodlife.fi...
I as well am a female gamer but based on what I've seen and encountered over the years most girls will choose the sexiest outfit possible if given the ability too. On MMO's like FFXIV this is something you see everywhere (no I'm not talking about the guys who play as female characters). Video games are not trying to set a standard of beauty, its just people getting buttmad when things aren't fair in their viewpoint.
But DOA these days is niche in nature. It's never shown at an E3 or any major american event and sticks only to TGS and some FGC tournaments. It's about as niche a fighting game you can get.
