This article seems like a jab at those not buying the game for whatever reasons.
The Airport scene is set in Russia, but thats beside the point. The portrayal of a mass shooting is just plain unsettling, and unneeded. CIA agent or not, this mission revolves around the player shooting up a public transportation center. Something that will not set well with people right now.

1)Halo... 1 was sick, 2 was ass, 3 was wasted talent
2)Gears... 1 was sick, 2 was lame.
3)Forza... With GT5 around the corner, IDC.
4)Splinter Cell... Never a fan of the series.
5)L4D... I have L4D, and the L4D2 demo on the PC. Not worth the money.
6)Fable... Didn't like these games.
7)Alan Wake... Seen gameplay, looks bland.
8)Crackdown... 1st was awesome. More sandbox games coming to PS3 though, so IDC.
9)Shadow Complex... XBL Game? Alot more ...

Having the player go through the scene does not make it more dramatic, it only makes it more controversial. IW KNOW this.
And of course this game is made for a mature audience. What you have to see is people who cannot understand this scene WILL play the game.
Theres a fine line between portraying violence like this, and having the player control it...
I might sound like a mother of 3 or even worse Jack Thompson, but you have to admit, that there has to be kids out there, who are teetering on that edge of sanity, and if they even think that playing these scenarios out in a video game is ok... it could set them over that edge.

I don't know what the **** Infinity Ward is thinking... Modern Warfare 2 drops in a few days, with a mission entailing the PLAYER to shoot up civilians in an airport... of course I saw this a week or two ago, and didn't think nothing of it. But with the recent shootings in America, especially the one regarding Fort Hood, IW is in for some bad media coverage and picketing...

Gonna install my 7.1 surround system, tinker with my PC, then try out Shattered Horizon. Looks like a cool MP game, with a kickass soundtrack to boot.
As for MW2? I am definitely trying before I buy. Mostly likely won't be doing the latter though.

There's no doubt MW2 will be an above average game, but it's GOTY worthiness is a farce.
It's not just dedicated servers. It's Mod support, price hike, 9 vs 9 cap, and an all around console approach to the PC version.

In all seriousness, there's no doubt MW2 is an excellent game, the actual crew making the games over at IW are top notch... its just their leadership that needs retooling.
That said, GR decided to give the game a perfect a score, with little to no complaints. Signposting? Stupid teams ;_;? Lean? ... these issues seem pretty trivial compared to ACTUAL faults in the game that have been brought...
