Sony should be taking what these guys/gals have done seriously. They don't need to copy the wiimote exactly.
The snap apart Playmote would be better direction to take as you have the option or sticking with the traditional controller or going all out with two handed motion control.

The Xmote and Playmote are perfect for shooters. Plus, there are a varied range of games for the next gens which could easily utilize the new controllers.
In short, developers have and will continue to make money with the Next Gen consoles when the new motes come out.

Did both Consoles only go for around 512 MGs.
I mean, the next gen consoles are essentially PCs that are meant to last at least 5 years. And 2 Gbs are the absolute minimum these days for a PC.
Oh, well. The Ps3 only had 32 Mgs and we saw in God of War what developers could extract from the system. Likewise with the Ps3 and Xbox 360.

I wonder if the future Ps3 slim will have a memory upgrade like the PSP.
Yes, Sony shares alot with Apple but it needs to develop a universal Operating System - like Apple have done with Mac OsX - which can be uses on most if not all of its hardware.
Then Microsoft and Apple will tremble in fear as Sony becomes a major Software(PCs in particular) manufacturer.
That's where Sony needs to focus.
In particular Operating systems for the PC.
If Sony can develop an Operating System(Unix or Linux based like Mac OSX) that can work on both the Playstations and PCs then they would have just created a new cash cow.
Sony could potentially have a 100 million Ps3 owners by the end of this generation which would mean they could test a Sony OS on the Ps3. Once poople get a taste of this OS and discover you can also get it ...
just for the novelty value alone.

The Wii-mote is the only NEXT GEN thing about the Wii.
It's a CONTROLLER for pete's sake.

From my year on N4G I've notice it is the 360 fanboys who do most of the trolling and phantom disagrees.
Yes, there are PS3 trolls but they get reduced to one bubble very quickly. And the main 360 trolls for some strange reason seem to maintain or increase their bubble count. Hmmmmmmmm? Very strange if ps3 fanboys dominate this website.
What does that tell you about the trolls on N4g? They certainly aren't dominated by ps3 owners.

It'll be a great controller for shooters - super fast aiming.
MGS4 is the first AAA exclusive that would likely result in more console sales.
And being that the Ps3 is only 4-5 Million behind the 360 and more exclusives are coming then yes, MS needs to worry indeed. It will be in third place within a year and if the rumours about a Playmote are true then the Ps3 will bring alot of converts from the Wii fraternity.
And least we forget the biggest exclusive this year for the Ps3...

The Ps3 should have had ingame XMB, messaging, user music etc from get go...not 2 years later.
Once the Ps3 eventually brings these things in and further reduce its price, plus builds and huge and varied library of games THEN AND ONLY THEN will the Ps3 be the best console ever.
Gameplay includes:

* Freely usable vehicles - greater choice on how to achieve an objective

Motion control in the Wii-mote is definitely not a gimmick but next gen

motion control in the six axis is. Sony should have taken the leap and created the Playmote before the Ps3 was released as the main controller.

I'm playing it at the moment and it's definitely not a 10. BTW, there's not such thing are a 10/10 game because no game so far is PERFECT. You know which games I'm talking about.
IMO MGS4 just too much cut scenes - more than usual for MGS

the animation/physics(especially slow as running and no sprint option) is too OLD SCHOOL.
