Call of Duty 4 IS a modern shooter though
I'm much excited for this game but yes, it won't get as much noise as it would have 10 years ago. It's the era of MOBAs for PC gaming, arena shooters are dead sadly. It's sad only because of how good the current UT is.

You must be thief or from the future if 4k PCs cost you hundreds of dollars.
I feel the 9th generation of consoles will be a repeat of the 7th one in a way. A new TV format starts becoming standard (1080p then in 2005, 4k in 2019) and while the new consoles do run some games in said format, most games will target and run at a lower resolution (720p back then, 1440p in the next one).
Edit: lol at Spider-Man's comment, 4k isn't even mainstream today, much less 8k.

I honestly wouldn't get "first wave" monitor unless you're willing to pay over 1k on it.
You can already do this if you play SWTOR's campaign. The only thing that would change would be better graphics.
I don't oppose the publishing of this game just based on freedom of speech just like I wouldn't oppose a game about killing Christians, rednecks, Americans etc or Amy other specific group. Thankfully, the market seems to be smarter than that and won't be supporting this.
Well pretty none of those games are counting their digital sales obviously so that's a non-factor.

I said proper MOBA for consoles. SMITE was made with PC in mind and somewhat works on console while KillStrain is being developed for PS4 in its entirety. The fact that you keep on bringing up other games that superficially look similar to KillStrain mean you have no idea what KillStrain is about.
I have certainly not enjoyed of what I was able to play at some point, but you certainly never pre-ordered it either.
This game is nothing like any of the other ones you've mentioned. This is basically the closest thing to a proper console MOBA there is.

Getting cheaper won't happen if they only release a very conservative number of prints.
Although 3K is definitely an upgrade from 1080p, it's more sensible for me to stay at 1080p144hz and single GPUs for the time being. Games are only getting more demanding anyway.
For some reason it feels a lot better than Super Acrobatic and here I thought it was just a port
