They should just make it so that the game's $5 to rent, keep it for as long as you want BUT you can only rent so many at a time. E.g. lets say you can only rent 3 games at a time ($15), if you want to rent a 4th you'd have to 'return' one of the other 3 to do so.
Quick? How is 10 seconds quick? you can turn it off in 3 seconds by selecting the turn off device option in the menu
@Enigma_2099 - if you already own the games do you not still own the console? Seems a bit weird that you'll sell the PS3 but keep all your games.
BC was not possible with PS4 to PS3 because it's a completely different architecture. You would basically need to build a PS3 inside the PS4 for it to work. So in essence you'd have a slimline PS3 attached to the PS4 - and you'd probably have a price bump similar to that of buying the two consoles separately (so roug...
I bet MS open their presentation with the 'price-cut'. Even though they haven't cut the price of anything. They've just changed the bundle.
They've gone from - Console + Controller + Kinect, to Console + Controller, and made it 'cheaper'. It's the same price just without a bundled Kinect.
That's basically like saying a Console + Controller + Game bundle is given a price cut when you sell it as Console + Controller only...but Microsoft wil...
How is it a huge slap? It's a slight slap, but not a huge one.
It's a slap in the sense that early adopters were required to also purchase the Kinect, but realistically there's no price-drop taking place. If there was the Kinect would still be part of the console bundle. Basically they've just changed the bundle on sale from - Console + Controller + Kinect, to - Console + Controller. That's the only reason it's cheaper - they removed a peripheral. If you we...
How does removing the Kinect from the box to make it cheaper constitute a 'price-drop'?
Realistically isn't it the same price, just without the Kinect...?
There's no price-drop here, they're just giving the customers the option (which should have always been there) to buy the console without the Kinect.
Played some of the beta, and once you get past the Mech gimmick it's just another FPS, there's very little innovation in this game. Don't get me wrong it's fun, but no more so than any other FPS available.
"Finished GZ for the first time in about 90 minutes. Total game completion? 9%. I think that tells you all you need to know."
@Hatsune-Mike
"the last of us immerses the player in its world better than most games that ever existed and it introduced new techniques and ideas never seen before in video games. i cant really think of one area tlou was weak in using the technology available on ps3"
As much as i like the game, the main area where it fell down for me (and caused loss of immersion) was the AI interaction with each other.
I remember going through a level full of click...
I wouldn't have thought Taste The Pain was that bad to be honest. It is a PS1 classic in my opinion. 4-way fighting on a 3D plane, awesomeness
@TheRedButterfly
"I can't help but feel that [playstation] people will call it better than Halo, and everyone else who's played Halo will say it's almost identical"
It's speculation like that which is the basis of fanyoyism (not suggesting you are one).
I've owned and played some (not all) of the Halo series, and I could never get into it. It just didn't grab me like some other FPS games - that being said, I've gone off F...
The Mafia 2 was the only game in this list i'd played, and i disagree with it being underrated. Makes me think what people believe about the other games in the list.
But what's the point of making an open-world/sandbox game then not giving the player anything to do other than the story? I mean it's less than half a game to be quite frank. Not being one for Mafia story lines, I wasn't engrossed, leaving it feeling empty. The only thing if i remember correctly that i...
@shivvy24 - although i couldn't get into it myself, even Yahtzee of The Escapist & Zero Punctuation fame says Spec Ops is a surprisingly good game and he's pretty hard to please.
"Yes, I am sure this guy, who actually purchased a PS4 and plays with it, purposely destroyed the analog stick so that he could report it to the world and now have a defective controller. The logic in that sort of thinking baffles me to no end."
You've clearly not seen the videos of people buying a new console then exiting the shop and smashing it - for no reason other to say "I have money to burn, this is how much I hate this company" - which in itself if idio...
I'm a fan of the series, however I've come to the realization that it's more about the differences between the cars than an actual racing game - this is why they have 5-6-7 etc versions of the same cars in the game, and don't just have one or two which you can sup-up yourself.
The AI is awful, and provides no real challenge until the later series - and even then if you get the right car they're pretty easy too. there's no defense and very little offense from th...
Graphics can be impressive yes, but i would gladly revert 10 years graphically if it meant better gameplay. Ryse has little/no gameplay, it's button bash then quick time event.
@4Sh0w
"only 1080p @60fps exclusive game"
I'm pretty sure you've discounted all the PS4s exclusive digital games in that statement.
@Anarki - the reason GT5 took so long to come out was due to the architecture of the PS3. They basically had to rework everything to optimize their results. Given the PS4 architecture is based on 'off the shelf' parts it shouldn't be as hard to develop.
@JeffGUNZ
That's not what he's saying - he's averaging the failure rate of the entire 360 range from the initial failure rate through to and including the slim failure rate.
@alexkoepp
you don't remember any previous generation doing cross generation games? The last PS2 game to be released (in the West at least) was released in 2013 - and this was a cross generation game that was also released on the PS3 AND PS4...
It happens each time, you can't just suddenly stop producing games for consoles that millions of people own. There's risks involved in only producing games for new hardware, will the one you pick (if exclusive) flop? How mu...
