@TFJWM The article simply states that they are loading the audio engine to use core six which releases core 7 for whatever which before probably also handled the audio engine. If they are going to use core 7 for the game engine then you are going to be minus one core for calculation which means more work for one core.. it's a balancing act for sure but it's still more stable to have 2 cores balancing the O.S then 1 regardless. 1 core for Audio/Party chat and OS features running at 1.6...

It would be a small boost for processing to both the gpu and cpu for draw calls and data processing.

Nothing major.

12.5%.

Nice little chunk of powa.

@ninsigma You are not far off sir. The data would have to be pushed from the cache/frame buffer of the core most likely to the memory and froze, then you would have to fill it with the OS's data to be processed and then dumped when going back into the game. There would also be some permissions for the lower levels to make the switch on the core as that would have a the most administrative security setting possible. That's what I meant by Dynamically switching.

Hahaha, When I first read the headline I said to myself

"O no, Don't bring the secret sauce to PlayStation"

But that article actually explains what the technical aspects are so it makes sense. When do do this reminded you it's less stability for the O'S but more for the application.

2 and 6 = More stability
1 and 7 = Performance for the game, less stability.

If they could dynamically switch when ...

My thoughts exactly. They need to get the folding@home one on the PS4. It was awesome.

Microsoft has done a good job turning around their mistakes from 2013. It would be bad PR to spend what they did on Minecraft and Havok and say gaming isn't important to them which would be a slap in the face to all their investments like Mojang and Havok etc.

They don't make much Money on the Hardware but if they continue to show consistency for the forth coming years and titles I could see them out pacing what they did with the Xbox 360.

Fallout's graphics are fine. Not every game has to be mind blowing graphics to be fun and Fallout proves that. It's the same with games like Halo. The graphics don't feel as polished as say COD or Destiny but if you ask anyone who owns an XboxOne the game is still fun without crazy over the top graphics. Simple put. This article is wrong.

Lets not forget that the Xbox One's BC is not full Backwards compatibility. It's selective. 100 titles. I'm sure this will grow in time but there will be many games missing as well in time.

Okay, Congrats to PlayStation who sold more consoles units worldwide and dominated the software sales for the month once again outselling Xbox One and widening the gap.

Again, They still end up losing the year in all regions. You can spin it however but in the end and even if the Xbox One does sell more in the North American region, It's by a small amount in terms of perspective and are still losing globally by a 2 to 1 ratio.

Xbox One has come along way I would agree but lets not church it up. Stick to the facts. The whole picture not a piece of the pie.

Yep. I must agree. The direction seems better although I think B.C is overplayed. It's a great feature but even Microsoft themselves have said the percentage of people that play B.C is low (google it). However, it keeps it all in one box and it visually helps out a bit. All in all a good feature but most people will be playing new games on Xbox One unless a sequel from the previous generation comes out on the new generation of consoles and you are catching up with the series. It's gre...

@Tobsesan It's not really salt so much as it is just misinformation for gain which creates annoyance. These practices are very dishonest when it comes to gaming or when trying to figure out sales and also then begs the question of why?. We are talking about games here, Not how many games and action figures and clothing products are sold.

Halo 5 was received pretty good from the media averaging out to an 8.5 on metacritic, Which to date is the lowest score and lowest selli...

Ya, but this probably won't have the same impact that the Sony commercial had.

... Now just if they could fix losing 11 months (12 Months worldwide) in a row to PS4 in North America and not have to throw everything but the kitchen sink at customers just to win a month in 1 region (NDP North America)

I didn't look but did they put fine print underneath saying selected titles? cause they are referring to all games when this isn't the case. They str...

Simply not needed. I really don't need trigger stops and paddles. I mean everyone thinks they need to drink gamma and have paddles to game these days lol. I could understand if you were trying out to be pro but just to play casually or everyday it's really not needed at all. I could see if you and a buddy were playing a game on PS4 and you own an Xbox and are not really good with DS4 but.. Not really worth the money imo.

It's because it doesn't fit in to there narrative or they don't know that NPD statistics are only North American which they can google quick to find out.

They want to believe that it outsold world wide but those numbers are not out yet. But if you read any article on this site right now they will skip the North American part to make you believe they outsold PS4 world wide. Facts don't bod well here unfortunately.

3718d ago 12 agree4 disagreeView comment

It's not that it's because it's Microsoft related. Its because you fanboys literally try to pass off the headline as "Microsoft Won October" in multiple articles with out explaining that NPD is NORTH AMERICAN SALES ONLY. It's misleading and dishonest and you actually have other fanboys who don't know what NPD is believing they won the month world wide. Dishonesty is going to get Disagree's from people who understand the numbers and what they mean.

NPD only counts North American Stats, Far off from worldwide stats. So misleading to say they won October. Will see the other regions in a few days most likely.
