Although i've followed the game since it was announced so it wasn't a sleeper for me it defo lives up to my expectations. If it wasn't for Halo 4 coming out, it would almost defo be my game of the year though.
And it felt so archaic compared to other games of it's type at the time, it's almost like Half life and Halo had never happened...It's sad that the company that created the first person shooter fails so bad at making a worthy game in that genre.
For me it's defo living up to expectations, I already had to restart the game as I failed miserably on normal ironman mode (hint it's not easy for a newbie like me!), but it's a testament to the games quality that it didn't put me off playing and that I'm coming back for some more punishment!
There's not nearly enough AAA sci-fi games though, or movies and tv series for that matter, more please!!
I just lost my whole squad (of five) that have been with me since the beginning of the game (well after the first squad of cos ;), I'm playing it on normal ironman as I have never played x-com before but I still wanted there to be consequences and boy was there! I'm gutted that Jim Carey the crazy Canadian with the purple hair and Argie Bargie the argentinian with the massive moustache are dead :(
There is three forge maps in total, all smaller than Forge World, but all big and decent maps in their own right, also you can forge the other 10 maps of course.
Wow she's cringeworthy and a pointless addition to anyone outside the US but the games still looking great and I'm glad I have it pre-ordered.
I preferred #3, it just felt more polished overall and having John Cleese as my butler was the icing on the cake.
Utter utter nonsense, if you really believe that I am scared for you...
@Megaton
I didn't think you had a real answer, who's lying now?
So which lies are you talking about or are you just using hyperbole?
So what amazing game have you made?
I'm enjoying my free copy of civ5 with xcom pre-purchase right now actually ;) I've never played a civ game before and I like it, xcom looks excellent I agree but I thought Skyrim was meh tbh and that's from someone that loved Oblivion.
Defo a great game, not quite Shadow Complex brilliant but the combat is way better and overall a 5/5 is not far off the mark (lol mark!)
As much as I respect Bungie for creating the Halo universe in the first place I'm glad they've moved on, as they made many questionable decisions with the Halo sequels and never equaled the brilliance of their first attempt.
Yeah especially the HaloCE remakes terminals, they were excellent.
And bluray discs cost how many pence to manufacture?
Comments like yours are unwanted and uncalled for.
Agreed, ODST really is an overlooked classic, CE>>ODST>>everyoth erHalogame
I have high hopes for Halo 4, don't let me down 343i!!
They did release the 6 button controller though which was sweet but yeah the md's sound chip was awful and couldn't do speech to save it's life.
It's cpu was over twice the speed of the snes' mind and that's why it's games generally had less slowdown and companies like Treasure were able to squeeze alot of power out of the old beast, sprite scaling and rotation usually the snes' specialty (with a built in "mode7" chip for it no less) ...
