I liked Battlefield Bad company better than this.
Just started playing this so far seems same as cod4 but a step backwards in weapons due to it being a WWII game. Some guy on the server was a rank 45 and kept winning due to his perks/upgrades whatever. So much for maintaining COd4's balance of skill vs experience. Anyway, i hope it gets good reviews otherwise competiting with bigwigs like Gears2 and R2 on both platforms will be a very difficult task.
i agree with Dead Space. It was quite a surprise to find its so good. I belive its better than Bioshock in creating a scary environment. THe graphics and sound effects are topnotch and story is gripping and keeps making you want to play just a little bit more. Dont know about Mirror's edge though, d/l the demo but hvn't tried it yet. Good score. Its funny some people were saying in R2's review from game informer that they'll wait for Gear2's review. Guess this answer their question.
Seriously fanboys aside, both sole console owners of ps3 and 360 hv reason to rejoice that they are getting great games for the holiday season. The winners being both 360/ps3 owners who can and will be getting both games.
So stop being fanboys for few days and go and pick up the games that you have been fighting ...
Bubbles JOY. I dont know why first these fanboys start creeping up in all the 360 articles and commenting about fable2, Gears2 as being flops even though they had scored 9+. Now they are blamming the reviewers of being biased. I think this generation of console wars has really messed up the most of hardcore ps3 owners. They are so insecure that they try to find excuses for anything that is negative about ps3 and spin it in a positive way.

Nah nah we have to be humble in this time of crisis for the fallen ps3 soldiers. Lets not rub this in their faces while they are face down on the ground. They are already delirious with so many flops on ps3. I'd say Gears2 is better than R2 along with millions of other gamers but R2 is the still the best shooter on PS3. Go get up and enjoy your R2 and LBP show the world you guys buy games rather than just criticize 360s superior games.

I thought i read somewhere japan had 30k of first days sales of LBP, compared to 70K for 360 title. So whats with the wait and see game?

Right to certain degree as both consoles have 512mb but the available ram for GPU and CPU in 360 is dynamic and shared whereas PS3 has strictly 256/256 for GPU/CELL and is not dynamic. So if a scene requires 300 mb textures than it can be done on a 360 easily but on ps3 the gpu is stuck with 256 mb and than programmers have to work around this limitation by some other way.
Game is good but not great. All this has been done in COD4 barring few things like irritating dogs and some new perks. Does not mean it should get a AAA rating. THey are way behind the graphics standard set by games like Farcry 2, Battlefield Bad company and the recently released Gears of war2.
I'd rate it 8/10 max.
