Good analytical piece, and one that highlight's how Sony got into this mess. It might be the wider company that brings Sony's Gaming Divisions crashing down, that could be one interesting fire sale if the time ever comes.

Agree, I spent a minute looking for the Page 2 link only to realise there wasn't one. This is horribly short, totally obvious and uninspired read.
Games developers are dead if they slavishly follow trends or publisher demands. Create the game, if it needs MP then add it, if not leave well alone.

A few home truths. First Sony needs to ditch Jim Ryan as a frontman. Too many big points were slipped in (firmware, Cross-Buy etc.) and almost passed they audience by. Steve Jobs would hammer home a small feature repeatedly if he thought it would make a big difference. Even Steve Ballmer would play like a terrier with a rag toy if he thought something was worth it. Not much of a list in the article. Personally, I'd fear this could be a bunch of random levels or missions pretending to be a game. It needs some decent story glue to hold everything together and kick ass multiplayer, not just box-ticking, cookie cutter, features from the existing versions.

There have been enough hints dropped about Monster Hunter over the year, but for all the "saviour of the Vita" stories, I think that's one Capcom will save for Tokyo Games Show and the baying hordes over there.
Probably, I mean Plants vs. Zombies was around that price on Vita, and its a $3/4 on iOS and Android.
Never said it would sell systems, but the Vita library needs bulking up and these better-quality smaller titles are just the sort of thing.
I'm getting a sniff of Echochrome for some reason, perhaps something like that as its a download-only title.
