Of the big 3, M$ was the last to arrive, they do not decide when console gaming ends, they decide when they cut their loses and drop out.
And loses don't always mean financially, I refer to the fact that they always lose in global sales.

At one point they were talking about a new battlefield yearly to go against cod. Besides it wouldn't be the first time a company rushed out a new version to replace a broken version rather than fix the old one. M$ rushed to replace windows vista.
So I read somewhere Destiny was going to be supported for years down the road, and it's on a galactic scale, so plenty of new worlds and extras thrown into many DLC drops will help boost earnings. I'm hoping to get into the PS4 beta.

How can anyone say it looks like every other COD? I've played every game since MW1 (except WAW) and this looks to play very different. What game are you ppl smoking?. It looks amazing and I can't wait for the MP reveal.
I only play Civilization on PC, and if I got a direct port of beyond earth I would never play games on my PC.
