Don't be silly. You know "global" doesn't compute for the people you're talking to.

You hit the nail on the head, except for the advertising bit. It's both. It should have been advertised more, and the ad I saw wasn't very good.

PS3 does not have a very strong FPS fanbase. The PS3 base is diversified among genres.

You're right that it would have sold instant millions on 360. It's a game that goes right to the heart of most 360 gamers - a sweet FPS with intense action and great online.

The thing is though, when the PS3 is cheap, and 360 ...

Dear Haters and Fanboys, here is some quick education:

* Internet hype does not relate to sales.

* Internet hype is not connected to the real world. N4G hype is just one site, which you read.

* "Halo Killer" is a mythical idea dreamed up by journalists to gain attention. 360 fanboys jumped on the bandwagon with seemingly no idea that Neither Guerilla Games or Sony ever had that idea or claim.

* The "fanboy war" is one min...

Killzone 2 has a great thriving online community.

Do you just talk crap out of boredom?

I've always wanted to play a game set in the battle between good and evil...

FINALLY!

It's not Co Op.

They can't just "patch" co op into the SP campaign like it's a couple lines of code here and there. It would take many many months of hard labor to get that going, if it's even possible at all in terms of missions flow and gameplay.

So...for co op that leaves R2 style side missions - which is also something that there's no chance would already be ready for consumption this soon.

Realistically, I would say maps, perhaps a new mod...

What is there to buy?

onLive doesn't even exist. It's somewhere between a promise and pipe dream.

There are no games, there is no content, there is no product.

Anyone could attempt to run a cloud gaming service. Why purchase onLive?

The technology isn't even worth anything without incredible feats of advancement in broadband infrastructure.

Game ratings will always be broken.

Everything is written with a bias - whether it's a bias against a genre, and idea, a platform, stigma, any number of things really...

I tend to think small-scale releases fare batter, while big name stuff really brings out the skewed writing.

It's on both sides of the fence, both inflating and deflating scores.

The only thing to do is not put too much stock in any of it. Read reviews as opinions and view m...

I hope Kodu does well.

Here's the reality:
99.5% of everything built on Kodu will be completely and utter CRAP. It will. There's no question.

HOWEVER.....if that's true, it only takes 200 Kodu users and already there will be something worth looking at. 2000 serious users, 10 small games that might be interesting.

If you have realistic expectations, is a nice little idea, and there are genuinely people out there who will use tools like this to get a...

Seraphemz, all games have replay value if you enjoy them. There is not a single title out there with no replay value to offer those that loved playing it once.

note to anyone who complains about Killzone 2's control lag:

Cloud gaming = amplify that by 10-100.

Sound good?

Didn't think so.

This only applies to people with no life, no relationship, and no job (ok that's a bit sweeping)...

I can hardly ever finish a game in a week these days. Too few free hours in the day between work and normal life stuff.

Sure I could finish something within a rental-time frame if I really pushed it but if it's not at my own pace then I'm not enjoying the game the way I should be.

This is way too pie in the sky to get excited over...

First, 60fps HD gaming - where the sequence of images is arbitrary, has no potential for current video compression techniques, and would be entirely outside the realm of consumer-level deployment while we're all on 24000 (theoretical) kb/sec maximum. Even SD gaming would probably be extremely strained right now in fact.

Broadband infrastructure has a long way to go before this idea is even remotely tangible - and ...

I think a big part of it is that the PS3 as a platform is not as FPS-geared.

The PS3 library has great diversity, but that splits the user base into lots of separate interests.

The Xbox community is huge on FPS games, and the 360 library caters to FPS gamers very nicely, thus ensuring FPS game successes and high sales.

When the PS3 builds a stronger FPS userbase, I think we'll see this level out.

One thing that could happen is a lot of 360 g...

Internet Explorer has a tarnished name for the pseudo-savvy net users.

Take me for example - I don't know IE8's features, or if it's secure now, or what it offers... Years ago however as an IE user I ended up with malware, exploits, slow browsing, etc...

I switched to Firefox and have been 100% happy ever since, and still actively dislike IE by bad association, even though its current version might be completely undeserving of that sentiment.

what the f#ck is going on in thread?

The crap you people write sometimes is just mind boggling.

You don't have to like the console, or expect to appeal to you, but at least WAIT AND SEE WHAT THEY DO before you trash it.

This is intended to for markets that currently aren't well supported or can't easily participate in the current top tier products we take for granted.

Stop being elitist f#cktards and be happy as gamers that more people aroun...

Good job students!

Let us also rewrite history books and commit mass disinformation for future generations so that WWII truths not to your tastes are gone forever.

No little Billy, there was never any such thing as attack-dogs. In wartimes, dogs were just there to be cuddly and soothe you when some one blew your leg off and stabbed you in the face with a bayonet.

It's funny...

360 fans will talk for hours about how Sony is losing money and in danger of pulling the plug on the PS3 - "too much loss per console!...bad sales! blah blah.."

And then when Sony has a revenue measure, it's "How dare Sony MAKE MONEY?! This will surely anger publishers and gamers!".

Clearly too many people have just taken up the hobby of bashing the platform not matter what happens.

What a waste of time.

The other sad thing here is "Halo Killer" is an urban myth.

The only people that ever used that term were certain people in media that wanted to stir up fanboys, and it was then latched on to by the 360 camp as a point of ridicule, but PS3 gamers eagerly awaiting KZ2 before it released never gave a sh!t about Halo.

I love Halo 3 personally, and I have no desire for it to be killed. For it is and what it wants to be, it's a good game.

You are the problem. Go away.

You're actually saying this directly..."it doesn't matter how good a game is"... WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?
