I don't really think about straight numbers when I think about something selling "well". Absolute numbers always change in meaning, but relative numbers don't so much.
Take for example LBP and KZ2. In my opinion, both of those outstanding games sold a disproportionately low number of copies in terms of the number of PS3 owners, especially when looking at how exclusives do on 360. And I only bring up 360 as a reference to achievable numbers in exclusive sales.
the game better sell well. If PS3 owners don't buy this game then there's something entirely broken with the PS3's install base.
Seriously.
There are puzzle spoilers in that review. Not cool.
I don't know if Apple will ever do a console, but they could.
There are so many thousands of devs out there training themselves up in Objective C / Cocoa (who are not proficient in other languages / frameworks). If Apple launched a game console they would have so much de-facto pseudo-first party development support it would be almost unprecedented.
Of course, they are mostly indie devs doing small budget, small games, but that could be the point of the thing anyway. ...
I got to play this game in Newcastle a couple weeks ago. The visuals and art style are incredibly beautiful.
I usually prefer faster games and I didn't get enough time on it to properly gauge the gameplay, but it's definitely a finely crafted work of art.
Yes, because parents never ask their children what console they want, they go on the internet and choose the first thing a web site recommends they buy.
Uh huh...
So he'll be suing N4G next for this comments page?
Dampsack: Why is it such a hard concept for you to grasp?
People look at reviews to help them make decisions about games. With me so far?
Biased reviewers are obviously not worth as much to gamers in this role as non biased reviewers, because the skew they add is not shared among most people (Hence...the use of the term BIASED).
It's not about outrage or fairness or console wars. It's about outing the people that aren't doing a very good job at informing...
Yeah. And nobody ever liked Gears. What did sell like three copies? I can't remember. Terrible game for this one to resemble.
Alright, since you asked I will.
Fanboys are Fanboys because human psychology gravitates towards the clan/tribe mind set under certain conditions. If you invest into one system/group, you have a natural inclination to feel a part of that bigger group, and thus begin to fixate on its worth compared to other groups.
From there, if the group you belong to is one that, for one reason another, you either must or adamantly want to belong to exclusively, things will natural...
No no..
what I was saying is that's ironic that Bungie aren't fanboys. The FLAGSHIP studio for 360 - the torch bearers more or less - they're just gamers.
So why aren't fanboys just gamers instead of fanboys?
There's a lot of irony in that notion too, don't you reckon?
I think fanboys should pay attention and learn a thing or two.
NEWSFLASH:
Bungie are gamers! Some one call the newspapers. THIS IS HUGE.
No offence, but that answer kinda worries me.
It's like saying "Of course LAIR is good! It has dragons in it!"
From the videos I've seen MAG looks good, but for me a shooter is completely made or broken by how it feels to control, how the actions flows, how the weapons handle and sound, etc... That's the kinda stuff I'm interested to know.
Of course the 256 players opens up all kinds of potential awesome, but keyword POTENTIAL. No one feature a...
So is M.A.G. any good?
What the hell? You have to have ADD to want a device to load something as quick as it possibly can?
My god...you know, you can still like the device AND acknowledge the crappy sides too. Would that blow your mind or what?
I love my iphone but the thing sure does have some sh!t wrong with it. The Syncing for media loading is stupid, the actual PHONE component can be buggy, etc...
Seriously dude. 15 seconds of load, or 30 seconds, or whatever...a DRAWN OUT...
Whaaaaaaaaa? 30 seconds to launch an app so they can have you sit through ads?
Extreme failboat.
Banning is never the right word to use.
The situation is that Australia has no R rating for games, so anything that pushes further than what fits our MA15+ rating is not able to be classified.
The people who classify the games don't have a choice, just doing their job. In fact I would bet that it drives the people classify games here nuts - I bet they hate having to do this.
We have one politician in one state who is refusing to allow an R18+ rating for ...
'Super Modern Warfare Party' would have been cooler.
Ok...so VGChartz is not exactly the holy grail of numbers, but here's one comparison:
http://www.vgchartz.com/gam... Gears of War 2: 5.24 million total sales.
http://www.vgchartz.com/gam... Killzone 2: 1.96 million total sales.
In my opinion, Killzone 2 is a better game. It's a phenomenal game in fact. ...
