6yr cycle would be fine, as I said the PS3 to PS4 was 7yrs and there was no need for a mid gen console, which could have been done with an upgraded Nvidia GPU at that time. The cell CPU was complicated as it is and it could have stayed the same. I think everyone would be fine with one a very powerful console for 6yrs.
You know what people would still buy it, knowing it would last until PS6 without any mid gen upgrade so Sony can cash in on.
PS3 to PS4 was 7 yrs no mid gen console was needed and it was fine. The same could have been with the PS4 5, 6, etc. As I said just make it more powerful at launch, and even 6yrs would be good until the next console.
I doubt that. Starfield is a CPU intensive game, and the PS5 Pro's CPU is still based on Zen 2. Be happy it can stay at 60FPS.

I'm not buying the console, but I still see it as a cash grab. Sony and MS well I don't know MS's future with Xbox, should just make their next gen consoles more powerful at launch and make them last about 6-7yrs. until the next console. It might cost more but worth it in the long run. PS3 to PS4 was 7yrs and it was fine as an example. When the PS4 Pro launched that's when it all started.
All I see is a cash grab mid gen console and nothing more. Right now they know how the PS6 will be and probably have an idea for another cash grab pro model. If they were smart LOL (yeah right) they would forget any future pro models and just release one model that would last until the next gen, of course it would be as powerful as a pro PS but you would only buy it one time.

4K 60 native on the box would be more true. But upscaling is not "true" res. it is BS lol and I use DLSS on my PC and still call it fake 1440p lol. There are just a few 8K PC monitors and you can run some older games without upscaling at true 8K native like BF V.

It already looked amazing on PC, and it's still fairly new on the PC side. I don't think it was necessary. I don't see myself playing this again it's still too fresh in my mind. They should have just remastered both games and get it out of the way, call it the Horizon Ultimate Collection or something LOL.

Nvidia is just so far ahead of AMD and Intel with GPU's. It would make sense to stay with Nvidia since the original Switch has the Nvidia Tegra chip.
