There should be a lawsuit against MS for what they are doing, they are worth over $3.6 trillion. It's companies like this that I wish the worst possible death for the shit bags making these calls.

Knowing Nintendo yeah I would think so. Don't forgot the OLED Switch 2 will be coming, because you know they couldn't do it at launch they want most people to buy twice.

But for people who want to own their games this is not good at all. As I said I like to buy used physical games off ebay, not some digital key card bullshit. I finally got my Switch 2 notice from Nintendo to buy the Switch 2, I will buy it but, I will be buying much less than what I bought on Switch 1. Only some physical games I will buy.
One thing about the Neo Geo, the games never really went down in price at all, over the years they went up. I'm not buying $80.00+ games I will wait for a price drop and buy used on ebay.
I remember back during the early 90's Neo Geo games were about $200+, back then cart's were very expensive to make and with Neo Geo you had the actual arcade at home. During the N64 era games were about $70+ because again carts cost a lot to make. $80 for a digital game. nah, pass, even physical I would not pay $80 right now.
Nintendo should have made it mandatory, that all publishers/devs. have both physical and digital games for sale or don't bother, will be the message to them. Nintendo has that kind of power now to put their foot down, because the Switch 2 will follow in the Switch 1 success. I personally like to buy used Switch 1 games off ebay, for a much cheaper price. I see myself buying less when I get a Switch 2, because I will only look for physical games.
If there are no shortages then why can't we just easily order a Switch 2 online, from Best Buy, Target, Newegg, Amazon etc. No shortages means we can get it by any means, online or in store.
But, it's $3.70 trillion lol. I'm sure the Xbox side alone has a huge chunk of that, way more than what Nintendo has in total which is about $110 billion, and when did they do any mass layoffs? If MS had only about what Nintendo has $110 billion net worth then yes, the layoffs are necessary.
Also who wants to keep paying a monthly fee every month, there are other options like Guild Wars 2 😁with no monthly fee and while not that many people overall compared to FF XIV, it did increase to about 21 mil now.
Once Denuvo is removed and the price drops to about $40.00 I will buy it. This is one franchise I like to buy on PC, but for $70.00 hell no.

Finally ordered my Switch 2 through Nintendo. Being a PC gamer I will take advantage of 120FPS but going to use my older 360hz 1080p monitor. I save my 1440p monitor for my PC 😂
