I love Infamous, but $50 should be the max for a game with no multiplayer. This isn't about Infamous as much as the industry itself. Games shouldn't be priced differently than any other commodity. Infamous is a great game, but it's hardly unique. If games were priced based on quality I would be happier. There should be 20-30-40-50-60-70 dollar disc games at retail. I would be a much happier gamer and the market might flourish from a realistic pricing model.

The voice acting in this game is god awful. Bill Murray as I understand was (and is) undergoing a nasty divorce process with his wife. She even called him a pothead in court, accusing his pot smoking of being a reason to divorce. It's sad because my childhood hero was totally depressed doing this game and you can hear it in his voice.

This game looks different and I like that. However, Im not a big fan of metal music so I'm not real excited. I should rephrase that. I like some metal music sometimes, but I don't like metal culture. The dark mythical vibe is not my thing. For example I'm sure Metalocalypse is a good show on Adult Swim but I can't get past the metal vibe enough to enjoy the humor.

As for this game, I'll still try it. Since its from the mastermind that gave us Grim Fandango and Psychonauts.

It is confirmed multiplat. From IGN UK:

"UPDATE: Looks like there might be confirmation that MGS: Rising could well be coming to the PlayStation 3 and PC in addition to Xbox 360. Konami's list of games on Games Press (a private PR service for the press) now shows the title coming to all three platforms."

They even had a contest to come up with a name! And that's the best they had? Seriously weaksauce.

OnLive perhaps is what Speilberg means, but even if that ever becomes viable ISPs are putting bandwidth caps in place that would make it impractical for most people to use.

Minority Report is a very underrated movie.

Yes. GTA4 lacked variety in a bad way. GTA San Andreas was a masterpiece because it was a jack of all trades. There was so much to do in that game. The gameplay in GTA4 went back a few steps, there was nothing original and the game's legacy will suffer from this. We can only hope the next GTA will be better and Rockstar was just working out the kinks. GTA has always been a jack of all trades game. It needs variety. I want to fly planes, jump out of them, run streets, deal dope, and all sorts ...

Most uneventful screens ever. 3 of them are nearly identical.

MGS4 was not political or philosophical enough, unlike MGS2 and MGS3 which had lots of political dialogue in the cutscenes. MGS2 talked about digital control, censorship, human purpose, and the evolution of ideas. Then MGS3 went in depth about the triviality of the Cold War, cultural differences, and war profiteering. MGS4 didn't have much to chew on politically. It simply relied on it's premise of total war control, and it didn't do hardly anything to expound upon the evils of the war econom...

It's not based on each system's install base. If you look at the number of online players as a percentage of the install base, PS3 would be #1 in online usage (Sony says there are 20 million psn users and thats a large chunk of the total ps3 owners out there). Since PSN is free, the only reason a PS3 owner wouldn't play online is if they didn't have broadband.

I have heard several stories of xbox players getting violent over losing their game/console. I haven't heard one story like this about ps3 owners. And yet worldwide sales figures are pretty similar. Interesting...

Lots of games are still worth 30 bucks a year later on ebay. unless youre a collection type, most people are done with their games a year later. i like discs still.

I wish this were on the PS3. But for 50 million dollars, MS can have this single expansion pack. The rest of them are going multiplat.

"Did they really leave out content that was expected for a game at launch?"

-If they can release it this soon, ya.

"don't pretend that what you paid for on disc was somehow anemic or a rip off. Killzone 2 offers a really well-rounded package as it is."

-A mere 8 multiplayer maps isn't exactly stellar.
