Gravity Rush 2 and Nier Automata are the only games I've bought brand new and on Day One this year... Not even going to touch anything else in the AAA playing field until those games are done.
The sheer amount of quality games on PS4 is just one of the many, many reasons as to why I refuse to buy a Switch. That and the fact that Nintendo are just a rip-off in terms of pricing their "low budget" tier software as well as their archaic hardware.
Nintendo fanboys are the worst. At least MS and Sony fans (in general) are a tad more objective - partly because they have superior catalogues and hardware to draw from. But all you ever hear from Nintendo fans are ***OMG 3DS and Wii are so amazing***, not realising that both hardware formats reached their peak many many years ago. Oh, and that Zelda quandry... Yeah, so what? That's just ONE FCUKING GAME! And it's not even an optimised exclusive.
@Plebegamer... Razzer read the headline. That's enough in most cases... But very well:
FPS - Metroid Prime Federation
RPG - Paper Mario Color Splash
On-Rails - Starfox 0
All came out in 2016. All proved to be major disappointments for fans and critics.
Agreed... Nintendo also have about 3 genres which they truly excel in...
Alright, it's not exactly 3... but you get the idea.
Have to agree with PearlJam here... we get it that you're a Nintendo fanboy... But can you just at least try to be a tad more objective? Some of the other people consider you to be a laughing stock and a loon.
Sony and MS hardware ruined Nintendo's archaic and gimmicky hardware for me...
Shit man... I don't know who to believe now ;)
Nobody asked for the Switch.
And to think that the Switch only managed to get a month before MS officially announced it as yesterday's news...
Goodbye Switch... The industry hardly knew you.
Not really... They'll just end up putting out a Sony PS4 exclusive - ala Hideo Kojima.
Explains why you took the time to respond then...
I'm not going to buy it though... Why would I "complain", only to then support such rip-off pricing strategies by funding the business model?
How about consumers not buy the over-priced $hit that Nintendo likes to shove down their throats?
Called it many months ago...

I actually tweeted about the article (as well as the author)... In my opinion, that opinion piece displays a disgusting lack of objectivity, and is a shameful display of platform fanboyism from a journalistic portal that really should know better.
If it's a Digital Download only, and the assets haven't been significantly reworked, then the price should be cheap.
Wrong. Final Fight is the best beat em up ever created.
The first one is incredibly flawed. But given Shinji's pedigree, I'm hoping that he makes good on his developer potential.
SNES is probably the sole reason as to why Nintendo still has its following today. Anyone read "Game Over" by David Sheff...? Amazing how far that company has fallen since the book was written in 1994. And to think that at one point, Nintendo had around 90% of the market all sown up.
Just goes to show how inept Nintendo's management have been since H Yamauchi stepped down.
I am referring to production values. In my opinion, the price should reflect the production values. Otherwise we'd all still be paying $60 for Tetris - arguably one of the best games ever (even if it isn't necessarily my cup of tea).
Also, with regards to the Switch... I don't play handheld. So that feature is lost on me - therefore making the console a lot more expensive in my opinion (especially with the price of accessories thrown in).
