And especially Microsoft should care to show what the future holds, given in what bad state their lineup currently is. It wouldn't be enough to show 2 games which are out in the next 6 months, they need to show gamers that they are working hard to fix the draught of high quality (Console)Exclusives.
Based on my experience of the last years, i expect nothing more than another mediocre or even outright embarrasing press conference. The 2017 one (exclusive world premiere, launch window exclusive) will be hard to top though.

No, it's not really quoted from someone at ms, but from quite some of their hardcore defence force troopers, who try to deny the major importance of a console having exclusives games, while the sales of their fav console, which literally only has a handful or two of true exclusives games, took a nose dive and has lead to brand as a whole having the worst image imaginable outside its extremly loyal core fans^^
