In the sense that xbox has been affordable for a while now. But the 360 was and is a succesful console, no getting around it. And in imoho, MS still has a huge trump card. Very cheap, almost free LIVE service. A $15.00 a year Live service, and a two year card on every box would be a very big move that Sony would have trouble with. And it would still make MS money.

They've used every trick in the book. They've hyped PS3, lowered price, lowered price, come up with good exclusives, worked a lot on PSN, slimmed and lowered price again and still working on PSN. I don't think it will get out of 3rd place. But PS3 is a great console, and it has helped BlueRay succed. Come back even better with PS4. It will have BD so Sony will have a leg up on that department. It's a marathon not a race.
I always new they could run propperly on consoles. Consoles can upscale and low res gives them a lot of room. Cards of their same gen can run this game on low res aswell.
Crytek are pc devs, so xbox is familiar. But either the Cell is a bunch of bs, or this is another example of very good devs unable or unwilling to exploit the storied cpu.

I'm not hating for no reason. This never happened in any generation before. Sony was the first console to not include propper vcabbles with the ps3. Now for some reason it's ok to do this. This is lame cost cutting. They can do other stuff to save a penny. Cut back a little on PR. Don't get that new Mrcielago yet, get a GTR this yer.

It is totally UNACCEPTABLE for PS3 to come without standard HD cables and headset. It is even WORSE for MS to do this aswell. I remember saying wtf when I opened my PS3, and I was vocal about it too. How the hell is MS going to ignore this and do the same? This speaks volumes. HD console not HD out the box? It's like a comedy gone wrong. Are they taking out the headset next?

So don't expect Source 2 untill 2011 at the earliest. But Source gives you exiting and fun FPS at W.O.W. specs, but can look preatty good on good PC's. How can you not love that?!?!
I get your point, but you can play Valve games on PS3. You can play OB on PS3. Tha't basically the bulk of Valve games right now. Only thing missing is L4d, but all console owners are missing out on DOD:S anyway. PS3 owners should've gotten those updates though. Can't somebody with SDK port those updates to PS3?? I'm not saying a dev, just somebody from the community.
But there was also a 20gig I belive. At launch there was a $499 and a $599 model. After finding any hdd will do, I think this was the best PS3 sku ever.
Tha PS1 sold extremely well out the gate. It launched with MortalKombat3, Tekken and Toshinden for god's sake The Saturn's launch was a disaster. For months all you could play on it was VirtuaFighter, BUG and StreetFighterTheMovie(<---l olol). The PS2 smacked Dreamcast out the gate aswell. The Dreamcast had a 10million base and still couldn't bang with the PS2.
The 360 design is horrilble. Possibly worst ever. Then they advertise it right side up, wich is the surest way to get RROD. I have a shiny 60gig model. The dust shows more. But when I wipe it I get less dust then 360. White sucks. It's doesn't show dust, and it shows dirt on the controller.
If you get your facts straight, maybe your oinion will be based more on reality.
PS3 is great and awsome(my second favorite platform right now), but fanboy arguments won't do it any favors.
When you claim a console is the first at something. How are we to asume "it's opinion". Not all the consoles I listed failed. If they failed that's not even the point. Before PS1, there was the SEGA-CD, PCengine-CD and FamiconCD-drive. You could listen to music CD's on them too. The SEGA-CD could play GD's, had internal harddrive and you could "rip" stuff on it aswell. After SEGA-CD, the CD-i, Jaguar CD and 3DO also had CD formats. The 3DO and CD-i could also play KODAK photo CD's and movie CD's. So...
