Is make a game thats as good as COD 4(decent SP, great multi. maybe add more maps), improve the GRAFIX a bit and add co-op. Another thing that they have to do is allow you to use the created classes during split screen battles.
If thats all they do then its still almost guaranteed to get GOTY.

Halo 3 has a theater mode. It automatically records all your multilayer or SP campaigns. Keeps the most recent and you can save them and move the camera and save any clips/screen shots you want.
one game that would be perfect would be Enhiender(spelling wrong probably). It may already be released, but I remember it as the coolest 2d(even though it was 3d) space shooter I ever played.

NOPE. IT is the best FPS ever. IF youve played FPS your whole life then you know that HL1 was the new standard in wich all other FPS were to be measured. HL1 was the game which made the STORY drvien FPS the trend. It showed the whole story through the protagonists eyes. It wasnt split in to levels, and gave the community the tools to make their own games(CS anyone?).

I love NG 1 and 2. I was able to beat NG1 on the hardest, only cheap parts I thought were forcing you to use the bow, which forced you to stand still.
NG2 on the other hand I could only beat on path of the mentor(2nd hardest) because the game has way too many enemies who throw way too many incendiary shirukens at you. Plus NG2 you cant stock up on as many potions as you can in NG1 (sometimes Id save lives of a 1000 gods to use as health potions).
